[Armoured Priest]

'....Why was that easy?' another voice asked in Burias's mind. Burias just blinked behind his gasmask a few times at not being hit at all before quickly moving to go follow augustus to the town hall hopefully. "Soooo, how bad are things if you are actually showing yourself to us and are now openly helping us?" he asked him as he tried to keep up through the muck and water of the age old sewers, realizing he was having a harder time doing so then he would with Cain.

Sorianna felt her mind quiet and she stared at the owl above her. Stumbling over her words she managed to say, "T-take off your mask..." in a pitiful whisper.

augustus leads you to waht looks like an outlet. and he leads you upstairs.

 

In the distance, cain fights in the center of  a mass. Bodies press in all around him, stumbling over the entrenchment line he made of ene my bodies.

 

"He has about 12 minutes befiore he succumbs to instinct.. YOu have to get to him now."

The figure slowly removes its mask.

 

The figures features are pristine, unmakred by a sin gle scar, but her eyes are fierce and cold.

 

"Sorianna...You need to go now...YOu cannot handle this."

That briefest moment of a memory flashed in her mind, the face looking down at her, loving and warm. The only memory she had of her mother. The face that stared at her now was no longer warm or loving but there was not a doubt in her mind.

 

"That's impossible..." Sorianna kept backing farther down the alley, "they told me you were dead...that he...that he killed you." She bumped into the wall as the alley way turned, and she fumbled to reach for the wall, staring at the woman. "You're lying to me..." A loud crash as Ashram was thrown across the street made her flinch and she glimpsed Nightmare near the entrance to the alley.

 

"Ashram get out of there!" She turned and took off running.

He dropped his ak and let it hang with it's sling on his shoulder as his hands became enveloped in flames. "We will be right back." he said before charging forth at the crowd of undead in between him and cain. As he moves forth he sends out a torrent of flames to hopefully break the ring and start grabbing their attention away from cain.

the flames cut a line directly through the wall of the undead, and instantly cain looks up. He ducks a vicious swipe from a flayer that wouldve taken his head and falls back through the line to where you are running.

 

"Where did these undead come from?! i killed that damn purifier and this is where we are?!"

"Retreat not an option....SHard must be destroyed..biggest contingency risk."

 

Ashram pushes himself up and sends his weapons out in intersecting arcs, buthering scores of undead as he lands a vicous punch to nightmare, sending him through a wall.

 

 

As you look up your mothers eyes follow tyou, gauging your steps before she takes to the wair with a predatory scream, brandishing a wicked scythe.

"I do not know, I literally just got here." Burias said to him with a shrug. "Oh, your real vater is here, and you got two brothers here who want to help you too." he told him in a matter of fact sort of tone as he nods his head over to the other three, as if it was just another day for them. "We clear this mob out then ask questions?" he asked as a ring of flames formed around both of them before being sent out in a pulse against the undead.

The scream set Sorianna on edge. Her scythe rippled in her hand as if it shivered, before reforming. The blood looked so much darker than she remembered. If this was anything like that day, there would be scores of undead with Nightmare's arrival. She came to a halt, her instincts fighting with her common sense and she hissed low in her throat. Her weapon rippled hard, even the orbs around her wrists dancing in a frenzied motion.

 

'Get a grip on yourself, Sori....' She tried to shake off the feeling of wanting to fight.

as soris mother nears, the blood instantly puddles in her hands.

 

"Foolish girl,.....Do you not realize who i am!"

 

The scythe flies past your face and buries itself into the skukll of an undead.

 

"You arent made for this."

 

She claps her hands together and the ghoul rips in half, sending razor sharp shards of ruby sideways, shreddign the shambling undead beside her.

 

"You arent going anywhere. YOure coming with me to augustus. Hes already securign the boy."

Cain doesnt fully acknowlege the words that spill forth, and his scythes form into waht looks like two long blades.

 

"Burias...Fall back to the echo rally point.....Weve taken losses. "

 

He begins backign through the exiit youve made.

 

"We guide them there, they wont have sniper cover there. Well see waht they there."

 

He taps his earbud, making a loud static rip through your earbud.

 

"relay the order now sargeant."

 

he growls,  lashing out at two undead that were coming too close.

Sorianna's eye narrowed in anger. "You're right, I'm not going anywhere, not with you. I don't know you because my mother was taken from me when I was very little. I don't care what you say...I will fight you." Lacking a weapon and unable to control any of the blood around her, she crouched slightly, her talons locked back and a low hiss coming from her throat.

Burias was already switching his coms settings to make an encrypted broadcast to the rest of black company. "Everyone fall back to echo point, we are going to make them fight on our terms." he relayed the command before refocusing his full attention back to the rearguard action. "Also nightmare is lurking about, as usual." he said to cain as he sent another column of flames down through the mass of the undead.

"Daughter..."

 

your mother coos. opening and closing her hand at you.

 

 

"Stop being so insolent.."

 

 

Your muscles sieze up at the blood within them instantly responds to her will. Slolwy, in smoothe casual motions your body turns and begins following her as if controlled by her will down the street.

 

"You will understand soon enough."

Cain grunts as he leaps back. Two massive flayers lunge over the trench of bodies and leaps toward the two of you claws extend3ed.
 

 

"Fuckl!"

 

cain frunts, stopping the first with his iron, the blades uinches from his face.

 

"Goddamnit!"

 

The second leaps toward him from his side, snarling and spitting in fury

Surprise slips onto Sorianna's face. 'This....this is....' Rather than fighting the control, she took a deep breath. 'You aren't going to win this one, Sori...' She watched the woman walk in front of her and a question came to her. The words caught in her throat, escaping as a stuttering sigh. She closed her eyes and resigned herself to walk in silence.

Burias tries to pull out one of his ghoul bone machetes out from its sheath and run it through the ghoul going for cain's side in one motion, hoping to catch it in time.

the blade bites through the beasts skull instead, sending it to the floor as cain shifts his grip upward and drives the weapons into the beasts brain, making it fall to the fkloor , broken.

 

cain and the unit fall back, ducking through the town until they meet the echo point.

Soris mother calmly leads her out of the town and through the woods.

 

the undead surge past them in a wave, but soon the echo rally point can be seen. Snipers are taking up positions and cain can be seen directing units to cvantage points as she smiles.

 

 

"go say hi to your friend sori.."

 

she chuckles as the control over you fades.

In the distance, augustus and the tweo brothers can be seen.They move slowly, advancing on you quietly as melinko gruntas.

 

 

"burias...permission to fire."

"Permission denied, I got the paranoid feeling that he can drop most of us before you could squeeze the trigger." He said to melinko. "The other two I meet, they seem nice." he added with a shrug. "Just keep the ghouls back and watch out for another nightmare host thingy." he told him before going over to cain.

Sorianna shakes out the weirdness of the control, carefully looking around. She took a few steps away from her mother. "They told me you were dead, you know. Morgana tried for years to take your place but even after they suppressed my memories there was always a part of me that waited for my mother to come back. Now here you are....and I'm trying to convince myself that you aren't who I think you are. There is no romanticism to long lost family members finding each other. I know nothing of you and even if you know what I've done, where I've been...you know nothing of me."

 

Sorianna slowly started walking over to the company, trying to calm her thoughts.

melinkops finger slowly shifts off the trigger and two silencers run out to sori, bringing her to the group again to morgona who watches the figure with wide, terrified eyes.

 

"Sori its fine.....What did she say..."

 

 

 

Cain stands in the center of the road and stares his father down as the ancent warrior advances.

 

"Were surrounded burias,...."

 

He grumbles, moving his head to the treeline , where a single white company silencer can be seen, not even hiding his [presence, staring with his rifle slung over his arm.

 

"Its been a long time cain.....I havent seen you since......Well sicne the day you were born...I bet you have alot of questions."

 

cains eyes narrow and his fist clench.

 

"Burias....You look...Dress...And act very much like your grandfather....its good to seee you are gorwing well young one."

Burias only gave a silent hesitant wave of greeting towards Augustus, not sure how to respond back after hearing the unexpected compliment. He leans slightly over to Cain. "You going to be ok bruder? You know, considering everything?" he asks the purifier. After all, from Burias remembered that Augustus is who designed most of Cain's early life.

Sorianna's head turned to stare at Morgana. "It's fine....right. Did you know, Morgana?" She watched her sister carefully. It was strange for her to see terror on the woman's face. Slowly she shook her head. "It doesn't matter if you did, really." Sorianna streched uncomfortably.

 

"She didn't say much, other than repeatedly telling me I'm too weak to fight before she literally forced me back here. She wants me to meet someone named Augustus...." A look of rememberance came to her face as she glanced over at Kreig. "Isn't Cain's father named Augustus?"
