"There was no body of any mutants reamining on the field Burias....The teams did a thorough sweep."

 

Sasha looks at you in confusion.

 

"YOu said he was a pyro? Didnt you come here with a bunch of pyros initially Burias?"

"As far I know I was the only one sent with Oberstleutnant Ackermann's company, Vater did not think it was worth potentially losing any real pyromancers or vorboten in the startup process." Burias said, with a hint of bitterness at the end of the statement. "He might have sent someone, after getting pushed off the states several months ago by us. He is kind of vindictive like that." he shrugged.

Sasha folds her arms.

 

"ive heard stories.....When i was detained of a company of dragons in the detrroit area....They flew drachen blut colors...Called themselves salamnders...Maybe he was sent here to...Send you a message?"

"Detroit? That's far north right?" he asked her, mulling over what he has been told. "If they really are vater's forces, or maybe just hate me in particular, shouldn't drag the rest of Black company into this." he sighed as he leaned back on the stiff patient bed. "Can not leave them alone either..." he whispered to himself.

"any threat to the company, is worth the entire of the companies force.."

 

Yuko growls, appearing out of the air beside sasha.

 

"YOu are cains second in command..His dominus. If you dont move to protect the company is his trust not misplaced? You are his warlord, start to act like it friend."

 

Shasha nods slowly, clenching her fist.

 

"Cain was gfood to us..He gave us something to rally under...But the first to do so was you.. I saw we crush them under the weight of our firepower brother."

"....You both misunderstood, like, all of it." he sighed. He sat up rigid and looked straight at Yuko. "It's not about facing them, its dragging people into my petty father son thing that my vater deems to be oh so important. I'm burning off the face of the planet for what they just tried to do." he explained with an slight angered frown on his features, surprised she's even questioning his need to protect his family. He looks over to Sasha. "Bruder has been good to us, that's why I'm not adding this to the plate of Scheiße he has to worry about. We crushed them because some deus ex machina brought the living nuclear reactor here with his big guns, otherwise it was touch and go for awhile schwester." he brought up, as if they forgot the thunder of artillery already. "I go up there take care of them, and come back while black company takes care of actually important stuff. It'll just be like another silencer job." he shrugged before he reached for his mask and helmet, putting them back on now.

"YOure a horrible assasin though."

 

Cain says from the doorway. HIs face covered by the silencers smoothe, featureless mask.

 

"And if what we see is the case, that man was sent as a message. One we cant ignore."

 

At once, everyone in the room goes rigid, the commanders presence causing a cold aura to fill the air. For a moment, it had felt like an ancient predator had entered the room, something ancient and angry moving among them with the face of a man.

 

"The message was clear, we know where you are, we know who your with...we arent afraid."

 

Cain pushes burias back down, making him recline.

 

"They will be, and should be....Well go into the city dark....Make enough blood eagles and theyll stop their nonsense."

"Nien." Burias said to him, moving his hand and sitting back up as if there wasn't a weird sudden change in the air. "You should not keep going away from the family, especially in times like this where there's an enemy hounding them and Augustus is skulking around. like Sasha said, they didn't rally under Krieg, or me, and certainly not Aberga, but you. They do not even have a home yet, let alone a plan, You need to keep leading them now. And I need to go take care of these salamanders." he continued, showing he's not budging on his stance. "This is not an assassination mission in the first place. If they are drachen, they won't have respect for someone who strikes from the shadow, and it will just keep them going. It either I go up there and they stop their Scheiße, or they get to find out that Adolfo isn't the only pyromancer they should be afraid of." he proclaimed as he put on his Vorboten trench coat.

Cain moves to stop you and finally, a figure enters the room.

 

'You are both being hard headed."

 

Melinko huffs, arns folded. 

 

'We are a unit....Not just a black ops company."

 

He looks aty cain severely.

 

"You are the co=mmander. The people look at you to provide a home and orders...We cant just go around killing everything just becasue they get uppity."

 

His gaze turns on burias.

 

"And you, we got this far by handling problems together. This isnt a Burias problem. Burias of the drachen blut died long ago..This is a buriasproblem who will handle it with his family. Not alone."

Burias slightly lowered his head, somewhat to bite his tongue about being right for once and trying not to ruin what Melinko was trying to say, but mostly out of the shame he started to feel. "...So I guess we all here agree to stay together right now and find a good home after this, then figure out how we will deal with the arscholes later?" he asked everyone present, wanting to get over the feeling he was having already.

Cain shakes his head.

 

"We handle them.,...Crush the threat.,..And make a home in detroit.....Its been abandonded Long enough and if these salamnders made a home there, there has to be enough supplies for us there too."

"Not to be that big of a downer bruder, but isn't that place just a frozen wasteland?" he asked cain. "Like, just a lot of broken buildings with hidden ghoul nests? Whatever supplies they got, they are probably getting it shipped. I think they set up there cause they do not have much choice with what has been going on, Ja?" he reasoned. He couldn't shake off the thought this was cain's way of going up there anyways despite what was just said.

Cain smiles.

 

"Theres a ho siht shadow base there. It was dropped aand stricken from the records so that the shadow companies can use it as needed. Its stocked and armored well enough for a threat...So as long as Olbriegs forces arent there we should be fine."
 

 

Yuko and melinko nod as sasha folds her arms.

 

"I dont care where we go, but we need to make a nest soon or well be unable to keep fighting this effectively."

"Ja, what schwester said." Burias agreed. "I hope it will house mr. Jingles and Commander Aberga's toys......that's a lot of stuff to take care now." he said, now realizing how much equipment they have now. "But, what are we going to do now, do you not still need the medicine for neffe from...you know who? Can not really leave without that.' he asked cain. "Or an exit plan, that would be gut too." he quickly added, the major part of even departing from the area.

Cain winks and leaves without a word as melinko grunts.

 

"I have the distinct feeling he has an idea that isnt going to end well for the enemy."

 

melinko pulls out a candy bar .

 

"Want one?"

Burias only shook his head in a reply to melinko as he laid back onto the bed, body still aching and yelling at him for the build up in his system and the burnout of his white blood cells. "....Großvater and vater could go for days without stopping, yet I barely got through one battle without seizing up like an idiot." He grumbled under his breath

Sasha whispers, sitting beside you and smiling.

" grand father always made me smile.

Burias lifted his head and looked up to Sasha. "You got to know Großvater schwester?" he asked her, the thought never crossing his mind before. "I did not think vater would have let you, knowing him. Where you able to speak with Großvater often? Even after he forced out?" he asked. He still remembers that for a long time he thought Alduin was dead since no one would tell him what happened when he was a child.

She smilkes.

 

'he took me to berlin.....HE always took me to his favorite sweetshop to get cinnamon rolls on sundays."

 

She says fodnly, reaching into her jacket and pulling out a locket.

 

"HE was, and is a good man......I cant wait to see him again..Hell...Breath homes air again."

"I remember the times he tried to actually train me with pyromancy unlike vater, babysteps of course, but he even shown me the bigger ones like his phoenix strike." Burias told her, a smile spreading as nostalgia kicked in. "He even took me to the zoo, the Berlin zoological garden I think it was called, and spent almost the whole day there. Got me a big book about animals at the souvenir shop when we left." He chuckled. The smile fell a little as other not so pleasant memories came swimming in. ".....I want to be able to go home, I want all of us to be able to go home and...just fix it all. All of drachen blut and Germany." he said, extending his arms out in the air as if encompassing the whole idea in his arms. "But I do not even know how." he said, his arms collapsing back down. "sigh......I do this too much don't I?" he asked looking over to her, referring to how he just made a happy conversation to a somber one.
