chinese forces pour from the woods , and the silencers all react quickly. High powered rounds tear from the line cuttinf down the initail wave with diciplined shots.

 

In the distance you can see a sniper setting up, he marking the the line with a tracer round right in front of you as you see him lift a walkie talkie and begin to speak

"No Nien, he is marking us for something!" Burias said quickly loud over the din of battle as he raised his new rifle and fired a snap shot at the man with the walkie talkie, not wanting to let him finish whatever he was doing.

ipossibly, the shot takes the mans entire hand and the talky in a spray of gore and bone.

 

he drops his weapon and falls from the tree as cain chuckles.

 

"reload and play counter artillery burias.."

 

he says as you notice he too is weilding the same rifle, , blowing a man sized hole in a hummer as it rolled forward and making it explode in a shower of shrpnel

Buris worked the bolt mechanism and peered down the scope looking for more targets. Trying to remember what both Cain and Krieg tried to teach him, he looked for people and vehicles that were marked differently from the rest, obviously serving some more specialize purpose on the battlefield than a typical grunt and worth a sniper's attention.

something catches your attention, and it chills your bones.

 

Dozens of trucks, each one carrying ghouls , their purpose obviosul to overrun the line. Smashruns past the line flanked by milenko and the corboten who engage chinese forces rushing the lines with crude weapons.

 

"Burias.."

 

caoin grunts as one of the trucks go up in flame.

 

"YOur unit is engaging without you.,...Corral them now."

'You can barely lead yourself on a day to day basis, and yet they give you the lives of 6 others too? Hah!' A voice mocked in the back of his mind before being shoved aside for now. Opening a channel to the people he now led, even if he was still uncertain. "Melinko, smash, Vorboten, pull back to the line now! They are sending augmented ghouls at us and I am not letting you all get cut off due to my level of antics." he said before firing a round from the Thanatos at one of the trucks with the ghouls, aiming at the engine block.

the truck goes up in flames, and smashes into another as cain grunts, a shot taking him through the shoulder as you see a line of snipers setting up on a hill almost a mile out.

 

Melinko grunts and flips onto smashes back and slaps the top of his head and the group falls back to the line, and evas tigers watch the combat angrily.

 

"WHy are we noit in the field bur!?" melinko growls nervously

"Because now there is snipers trying to pick us off and the trucks are still bearing down with the ghouls along with the fodder, now get back here do what you do best and start killing off the snipers." He said as he lined a shot at one of the mentioned snipers that shot at cain. "Sasha, take the vorboten to the line. The ghouls will get here with or without trucks and we need you to light them up when they try to rush us or stop them in their tracks." he ordered, refering to pyromancy and cyromancy in that order. He fired a round before speaking again. "Smash? Go play whack a truck." he told him, wanting the ghouls to be forced to travel on foot and be shot up on the way here. After firing the round at the sniper burias changes targets back to another of the trucks, but aiming at the transport compartment and fired, hoping what he was told about the bullets to be accurate when it gets into the fleshy cargo.

vain ignores the shot through his shoulder, impossibluy using his wounded arm to brace the rifle as he fires at another truck, tearing the engine block to shreds and sending the truck veering into chinese forces before it explodes, all three of your shots find purchase in the face, arm, and gut respectively as smash charges from the line, pysically lifting a truck and smashing it into its allies with a brutal roar.

 

In a blur, stabby leaps from the line and begisn to dance among the chinese forward force, making a cacophany of screams lift into the air

"See, look how good everything is going." He said to himself and the voices rather than anyone who might be listening at this point. With everyone doing their respective jobs, Burias tries to cover them all with the high caliber rifle, focusing on big targets such as trucks or augmented ghouls while cain and melinko took down the snipers.

the vorboten move in blurs as mortar fire begins to hammer the body line in thunderous roars, forcing the snipers to duck as the earth is flung skyward in a thunderous roar.

 

As you come up, you can see that the chinese are pressing forward and the line will be quickly overtaken.

 

"Burias!"

 

Cain yelps as he kicks a man off of a shard of metal, gripping his forearm.

 

"Gather anyone alive and fallback to abregas line!"

'Why did you say anything you damned idiot.' A voice hissed at him in the back of his head. Ignoring it again, burias clicks back on his comms to the squad again. "We are pulling back, to Aberga's line!" he told them before looking down the sights of the rifle to give them cover against anyone trying to take them down as they retreated. "These are mortars...they can not be too far can they?" he asked himself as he looked around, looking for plumes of smoke and flashes of mortars in use, trying to recall lessons cain tried to teach him years ago.

another mortar slams down and krieg grips you by the collar and yanks you from the line.

 

"Get back you fool!"

 

The mortar slams down and you are both flung past the tenchline. you land hard against ckrieg and hear the audible crunch of broken ribs as he lets out a ragged breath.

 

"Fuu...fuck."

 

He pants as he leans against a tanks tread., his face a mask of pain as he grabs his sides, feeling for the broken bones.

"You would think you would stop doing stuff like that when you are the only one that gets hurt." Burias said before slinging the rifle over his shoulder. He moves over to help Krieg, stooping over to help him stand back up and get him back from the line. "Come on, please do not yell at me."

[Thugren]

Krieg winces as he stands and grunts..

"Listen here boy...I just saved your ass again...."

 

YOu get past the line as the artillery opens fire.

 

"WHeres cain....Im going to need him.."

[Armoured Priest]

"I do not know, when I saw him he was still..." He started before popping his head over the lip of the trench. "...fighting in the front trench!" Burias said as he realized where Cain was still at when the barrage began, looking for cain himself and forgetting about the possiblity of getting headshotted by a sniper.

you see cain fighting side to side with a white company silencer.

 

There is a ring of bodies around them, and you can see iron moving like a wicked whip in all directions. sniper fire is stopped by the iron and all around them abregas barrage churns up eath and stone. As the barrage settles, the silencer is dropped with a gutshot, and cain visibly sighs, preparing to hold the ground alone

"Berightback!" Burias said to Krieg without a pause to let him stop him, throwing Krieg the rifle he was gifted since it was going to weigh him down before going over the lip of the trench while unslinging his ak and rushing over to Cain's position.

krieg grunts abd braces the rifle, and it barks over your shoulders as it takes out some oncoming vehicles.

 

"Burias!"

 

Cain growls as he lashes out with a vicous strike that crunches a rushing soldgiers skull like a crushed egg.

 

"YOu need to keep falling back! im moving there myself!"

 

two men tackle him to the ground as cain begisn to wrestle with them violently

"Oh quiet, you are always late for everything!" Burias said, letting loose a wave of flame out to give them breathing space in the middle of the horde and barrage.
