he stands weakly, forcing a smile and says.

 

"Guess chucky cheese is going to have to wait huh.."

 

He jokes tiredly, watching as krieg watches the sky sadly.

"I'm sorry bruder, I should have done something but I just let it happen again." Burias said sadly as he tries to help Cain move, feeling guilty as he thought his inaction is what let both Cain's son and wife disappear again. He followed Cain's gaze and saw Kreig too. "Krieg, you ok?" He asked him now, sympathetic to the feeling he was probably feeling right now.

Krieg says with a weak smile, his age showing as the rain pelts his tired face.

"Jess has her own way of doing things...Handling issues...YOud have a better shot control a live wire from a damaged generator than stopping her."

"...You know you made me do that once right sir?" Burias said as they stood in the rain. "I saw blue for a week. Still, a wire isn't a person who you knew and just wanted to help either." Burias added, not convinced by Krieg's words and probably won't be if anyone else tried. "I just hope nothing else happens, but bad things happens in threes right? At least that's what you and cain keep saying." Burias tried to laugh, wanting to brighten up the mood.

cain smiles as krieg leans agasint a tank.

 

"Were due for some good luck....Liek chuck e cheese pizza."

 

Cain smiles and begins to laugh.

 

"Im totally getting cheese..."

 

Krieg looks scandalaized.

 

"CHEESE?! you FILTHY CASUAL."

"But, I like cheese too. And bacon, hmmm" Burias said, starting to get hungry himself now.

Im more partail to chicken and jalapenos.."

 

A smoothe voice chuckles and cain whirls around, facing the intruder.

 

Able stands in the center of the path, the long tendrils of his jacket twitching as cain grits his teeth.

 

"Hello brother....."

 

he says to cain as he looks to burias.

 

"Pycho.."

"Oh sure, says the guy that actually tried to kill us."  Burias spat at clone, his anger shooting back up now despite how tried he was. "What do you want? Want to go round two dummkopf?" he challenged, stepping infront of Cain since Able seemed to had a murderboner for him last time they saw him.

He says, waving him aside.

 

"im here to bring you both to father....he wants to congratulate you both...We  brought some supplies."

".....It is a trap isn't it." Burias said after a moment of dumbfoundness at what able said. "There's no way either of you are being that nice." Burias said to him before turning around to Cain. "What do you think bruder?" he asked him, a little lost himself as to what to think or do now. "I mean, should we get the medicine at least? or just leave?"

cain looks tired, drawn out , as if he is having a day from the bowels of hell that wont end.

 

"If hes here, theres more than likely more men than we can handle for us to just leave."

 

He pats buriasers shoulder and smiles.

 

"Pluse...SOme food ..Im hungry as fuck."

"...I guess." Burias said with a sigh as he lets his brother take the lead. Everything in his head was screaming against it, but he didn't want to fight cain about it. He looked too tired to deal with anything so he just wanted to go through it as fast as possible so Cain didn't have to deal with this any longer. "After this, you're taking a nap. No exception." he said to him as they walked.

cain places a gentle , reassuring hand on his brothers shoulder, and a memory of similar walks is fresh in your mind.

 

Over failed missions, brutal amubushes and trench battles, after each one, cain always did the same thing when the fog was fading. He would place a gentle hand on your shoulder, with a chuckle or a laugh and walk to the next job.

 

"Cmon bruder....Im pretty sure he has those tiny ravioli in the can

He simply nodded and followed him, still feeling uneasy as he usually does."Ok. But I bet the meat in the ravioli is made of tofu. Just to mess with us." Burias said, trying to lighten up from his previous mood. He tried to make himself presentable despite all the muck on his armor and coat, trying to cover up just how worn out he was along with Cain.

"TOFU!? WHO EATS THAT DEVIL THING..."

 

cain chuckles as augustus comes into view, flanked by another masked figure.

 

"We did your damn wetwork.."

 

He says with a growl, cracking his neck.

 

"Are you keeping good on yours?"

 

Augutus smiles and nods.

 

"YOure walking nuclear reactor has the pills and food...I thought we could talk...And your friend can meet his gene sire."

"Gene sire....?" Burias asked confused, looking over to the asked man who just had his arms spread out as if expecting a hug. He was wearing what Burias recognized as oh siht standard hazmat ops suit.

"It is his fancy way of saying ancestor." the man said, his accent obviously German, still holding the pose he head. Burias head cocked in more confusion, still not understanding. The man sighed and dropped his hands limply. "Alright one second." he said as he removes his helmet to show his face. Underneath was a half scarred face with green eyes and close cropped blonde hair, looking a lot like Burias if he wasn't altered after his incident. He jumps back and points at him, knowing him instantly from all the stories his grandfather Alduin told him and the photos he showed.

"I know you! You should be dead!" Burias blurted, both confused and excited.

"Why does everyone say that?!" Alduwin said with his hands in the air. He sighed and shook his head. "At least you know me, now you going to say hi to you're great grandfather?" he chuckled.

"Wait...does that make Alduin, your son? But, you were around centuries ago that means..." Burias spoke, piecing something together.

"That my son is several centuries old too, you can thank him." Alduwin pointed his thumb at Augustus. "Now come here." Alduwin said, grabbing Burias in a bear hug. "Heh, Like the dragon armor you got going there, wish Augustus gave me something like that." he joked as he sat Burias back down. "Is that how Drachen blut looks now a days? I have to admit, I like it." he said as he looked up and down Burias' uniform.

"It is actually Großvater's armor, he gave it to me a while ago so I can help bruder." Burias explained, waving toward Cain. Alduwin felt the pride he had in his son grow even more after Burias told of his gesture.He changed the comms in his helmet to the channel the vorboten used and called them. "Hey, come out here. Urgroßvater Alduwin Dempsey is here I want you girls to see him!" he said excitedly. Alduwin just laughed with him, happy to see more of Drachenblut here.

"Now come on, let me see the handsome face of my great grandson." He said, gesturing him to take the draconic helm and gasmask off. Burias notably quieten down after that. He didn't want his great grand father to see what his grand son has done to his great grandson. "Hey, what's wrong. Ah come on, can not be as bad as this ugly mug." Alduwin grinned, holding his face at his chin. Burias didn't laugh. "I...don't understand." He said, looking to Cain and Augustus now. "Someone explain."

Augustus grabs his friends arm and stops him.

 

"Your grandson...Buriases father is as much a far cry from you...As cain is my splitting image."

 

his eyes glo and Buriases helmet is pulled off, exposing his face.

 

'As punishement for his talking to a young nazi girl, he was burned. "

 

Cain walks forward and grabs the helmet, holding it back to burias.

 

"And he embraced it...."

 

Augustus looks at cain and smirks.

 

"Very protective......Im sure jessica was very jealous of you two..."

 

This, you know hit a nerve as you see the muscles in cains legs tensing as he prepares to lunge.

Burias took back the helmet and slipped it back on as fast as he could, not wanting to show his face more than he had to. When he saw Cain starting to tense, he put a hand on his shoulder. "You know he is doing it on purpose. Do not let him bait you like that, you know her he does not." Burias said to him to calm him down. 

Alduwin was silent for awhile for head snapped to Augustus. "Alright, cut the shit Augustus." He said to him as he put a hand on his shoulder to turn him to face Alduwin, his face barely hiding the anger that was brewing underneath. "It was one thing doing it to the lizard back there, but doing this to the boys is another if any of the vague shit you been telling me you done with them is to believe." he said stepping up to the man. "I wake up, find out my great grandson was roasted alive by my grandson, and the first thing you do is poke them with some inane comment about his dead wife, you know something you have in common with him anyways? Not telling me how you couldn't help Burias or anything, oh no, got to go to do your 'testing them through social interactions' or whatever the fuck you call it." he said not backing off. "So how about for once you tell me straight out what you have been doing to them in every detail, or I just have the two of them tell me everything themselves. Or are you too good for that now a days...." he finished.

Augustus looks at his friend and finally sighs.

" fine fine..... I'll fel you all everything."

He lifts a ruined jeep with his mind and overturns it so he can have a seat.

" after I put you to sleep I set about perfecting my ability to gene code humans with the help of malek and altur. We each developed three strains of Eden and let them into the world."

Cain listens intently as the ancient warrior continues.

" my project created two sons... Cain the older, and Abel . Cain had the dominant gene, and the ability to merge with mutagens early, so to put my tarot to the test. I left Cain in extreme conditions to cultivate him.."

Cain growls at him and shakes his head.

" you left me at an orphanage a with a pyschopath!"

Augustus smiles and nods.

" I left you with a psychopath and you came out stronger. A lot of what was done to you was done incorrectly. Your family should've never been involved in the way they were. Nocturne misunderstood. My work and stimulated you the only way she knew how."



Cain listens intently and cocks his head, his face a mask.

" what was... The original plan..."

Augustus chuckles dryly.

" oh that's a story....."

Burias stood there as the three of them talked, feeling more uncomfortable as it went on as he did not want to be hearing any of the bad thing that happened to Cain. Though what Alduwin mentioned of Augustus' wife got his attention. "Wait, I thought Moria was his wife...." Burias asked Alduwin and Augustus. "I mean, she is Cain's mutter." Burias reasoned. Alduwin looked at his great grandson with a raised brow before putting his face in his hand. But not because of burias, but because of what he was hearing from his friend. Of what he did to his own flesh and blood and how so many others got involved. He now wondered if he actually woke up, or if he's going through a much more subtle nightmare in cryo right now.

 

"Gott verdammt noch mal ein Mann..." he said with great disbelief but he let him continue, already fearing how much worse the actual plan was.
