You hear a feral snarl ad watch as no crus is doig back past you.

Noctourne smirks as you turn around and notice her eyes glowing, all aroun you the sleeping dea begin to stir am she smiles.

" wrong answer human.."

He shrugs casually, the skulls on his shoulders scraping against other bones. "Maybe it is to you." he replied. He looks around as he feels what nocturne is doing. "How about you leave them to rest, you already have your own fodder to use." He said, somewhat annoyed that she would distrubed those who earned their sleep. Varkanis concentrates what little strength he had, the red orb on his staff begining to glow, before he slams the end of it into the sand, trying to override the ghoul queen's influence over them.

you feel your force surprisingly throw off the ghoul queens control, she is surprised by this , completely annoyed by your outburst.

"How dare you human...You are a freak and you dare to stand against a god?"

the ghouls at her side round on you as noctis bars their path.

"In my defense friend, she was not nearly as this bitchy when I went into the tomb." he said to Noctis in a strained chuckle, a sign of just how much the effort took out of the already weakened necromancer. He looks back to nocturne. " Human? Freak? God? For an old friend, you have grown a very bigoted, looking down view recently. Someone should really knock you off your high horse my dear and ground you back reality, before it becomes your biggest downfall." He said to her, the red orb on the staff glowing once more. With a snap of the bone encased fingers of his free hand, he casts a spell at her bone breaker guards.

the chains erupt from the ground and laswh wildly. The guards are snared, wrapped nad slammed to the ground with such force that you hear their fleshy sacks break.

The eath around you pulses and the undead rise, driven by their masters anger .

"we need to run...Now old man!"

"I'm old, not senile you fuzzy bastard." he chuckled as he turned and started to move. "I wrapped them up so we could, you know they can out run me." he told him, explaining why he did so as he tried to move he tired limbs as fast as he could with his staff aiding him by helping support him. "Now move mr.jittery." he said with a smirk.

noctis breaks into a loping stride. in one fluid move he wswings you onto his back and makes his run to the foetid bank of the nile.,


"we need to move...We can take the river or we can risk the desert...What way do you suggest necromancer

"Considering what you have said about the Nile, it might actually be easier going along the river. Less people and I don't think the ferals would be much of a problem." he said to Noctis as he brushed off the dust from the black robes. "Know of a place we can travel to?" he asked.

he leads you under an aequaduct where the towns waste would funnel into the sands

the nile is beautiful, pristine water that seems to go on for aeons , but in the distance you can see undead shambling

Varkanis walked on with Noctris through the hot sands to wherever. With his staff still supporting some as of his weight, feeling better han when he was first awoken, he was humming a tune to himself.

"Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

"Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye"

He stopped his song short as he saw the ghouls far ahead of them in the distance. "Hm, wonder just how aggressive they are." he said as he tried to view them with a hand cover his pale eyes to see better.

you can see one of them wears the garb of the death bites. A pack of flayers that at one time where very loyal to the city. Noctis grins and looks at him .

"Look old man.....We may have some luck...."

[Armoured Priest]

"Maybe, just maybe." Varkanis said to Noctis as he watched the flayer pack from where they were. "Then again, there are a lot of things I am not sure about right now." he sighed as he began walking over to the ghouls. "Let's see if they even remember me at this point fuzzy." he said to him in a half hearted chuckle.

the ghouls hiss, unused to seeing a living soul and crouch low

Varkanis stopped short and shook his head as the ghouls hissed and growled at him. "Just as I thought. Gods I been gone too long." he muttered under his breath. He held up an open hand to them. "Calm down now, I know it has been awhile but it's me, Varkanis, remember the city?" he asked. As he spoke to them he also extended his influence slightly to help calm down the agitated undead.

they soon stop their growling and defiance, looking at you with dawning realization .


Suddenly a horrid vision siezes your mind.

The earth is awash in flame. Augustus anmd the templars of the blazing sun are driven back from a massive crate. A single figure rises from the scorched earth, the figures eyes bore into you as it moves, and one word fills your mind.

Varkanis eyes looked around the scene behind the bone mask without turning away from Nightmare himself. "Huh....I don't remember this, so it might not have happened yet..." he said under his breath before looking at the approaching figure. "And you should still be sleeping.....none of these are good signs." he said as the grip on his staff tighten. All of this show times that seem darker then even the years when he was awake long ago. "Well, at least you remember." he grumbled at it, the only thing he thinks he could do in this vision he's having out of nowhere.

the vision fades and you can see umbra and the flayer ghousl gripping their heads as if in great pain from the afterwash of the vision

"Well.....that happened." Varkanis grumbled as he held the side of his head, his sight still blurred after being dragged into and then tossed right back out of a vision. Once it cleared, he saw Noctis and the death bites suffering the after affects. "That I did not intend for..." he sighed as he once more extended his influence, this time to help the ghouls with the mental pain they're going through.

The other flayers look to their obvious leader with questioning looks as he crooaks out.
