Yesterday night, I drove Catty to the hospital. After suffering for a week of constant headache and fever, enough was enough. The doctor that claimed it was just a migraine can go fuck himself with a razor..
After a lot of trouble, I managed to "talk" a doctor into taking a x-ray image of Catty's head, and testing her blood once more, since I have reason to believe she has meningitis. The blood test came back without any signs, but the doctor concurred with my worries.
The x-ray on the other hand showed signs of her having a serious sinus infections in her forehead, that may apply pressure to her head, causing the relentless headaches. She was signed in, and spent the night at the hospital while I went back home to take care of the children.
Today I spent all day by her side, as they started her antibiotic treatment. She also received a MRI scan for her head, as they are still searching for other possible reasons for her state. There is a risk that they will have to do a lumbar puncture on her, but for her sake I pray that they will not need to..
She will stay tonight as well, but will hopefully be released tomorrow when the treatments done, and she has gotten a few new medications. According to the doctors, and what they know now, she will probably be back on her feet again in a couple of days.
Oh, and one more thing. While at the hospital, she went into a light anafilactic shock since the kitchen staff was stupid enough to sprinkle some cocos on her dessert. And since Catty is lethally allergic to nuts, and the last time I checked the coconut was still a nut, it all ended with me stabbing Catty in the leg with an adrenaline syringe...
I thought you all deserved to know.

On a humorous note, tell her she is ordered to return to full health quickly because any extended leave of medical absences will result in Inquisitorial intervention - likely resulting in a Ponying
There, that should get her up and about in no time - my regards to her

Anyway, I am home, but I'm still under observation since I have a meningitis, and other stuff, so I can't focus on the xbox for a while, since my head is out of service! ^^
No need to do an investigation Cru, I have already done to many of those on the hospital...

@ Jaccx: I've always thought that the combat-stims would be more fun that that was... A fun note, they kept me in 6 extra hours for the safety since I couldn't take out a new one on the pharmacy.. They had none on the pharmacy so we need to take a chat with our Apothacarys to take in more of them! ^^

meningitis,
I had that soon after I was born, I haven't a clue what it's like though.

You recently promoted someone to Techmarine, maybe that would give you the Favour of The Armoury perk

Wasn't meningitis used as a means of covertly killing people back in like the eighteen hundreds.
The plot thickens...

It is inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord... I have no idea how they would be able to use that to covertly kill people.
I do know it comes from a virus, bacteria, or microorganisms, so maybe they had fun with it somehow! ^^
Oh! There we have Sister Ailie and Sister Juliette from the Public Service squad! Did they take a good care of you? ^^

Actually it can come from all of the above and more. There's a lot of distinct ailments classified under the heading meningitis
