"Joyous. In the meantime, I'm going to get some rest. I have a feeling there will be all nighters involved with this. I know all I need to know for now." Raissa turns and heads back to the stairs leading up, having found a room on the upper level that suited her tastes.

She turns on the lantern, keeping away from the windows as she made her way to the room.

"Hm, so I can actually breath the gas, now I want to know how." Sethis said as he got up and starting to head out. But before he stepped through the door he stopped, noticed Raissa is long gone, and looked over to Gunther. "Just a quick question if you do not mind." he started off first. "How did your and Raissa's situation even happen? She only mentioned it maybe once and I don't really dare to push it." he said to him.

Gunther smiles widely and turns from sethis.

" it's an issue we don't speak about friend."
He states simply walking aways into the house.


The night goes quickly , but as the sun rises both raissa and Seth get a series of sharp knocks on their doors jarring them from sleep

'Tell them to comeback later.' the thing in his head hissed, annoyed. Sethis just sighed quietly as he sat up and got out of the bed. Picking up one of his wrist mounts and attached as he goes to the front. After recent events, he thought it justified caution. "Yes?" he said through the door with a hand on the door knob.

Raissa rolls out of bed with a low growl. She was half way to the door before she remembered she had striped off her pants. The closest covering was a knitted decorative blanket that hung over the back of a chair. An unpleased sound left her throat, but she grabbed it and wrapped it around her, covering from her waist to her mid thigh.

She walked over to the door and pulled it open. "What?"

FOr sethis its an old friend, Marduk , captain of the assasination squad Clover, he greets sethis with a smile and offers his arm.

For raissa her father stands outside the door.

"come.....Krausus got a hold of some materials we are set to work with...We havent much time."

Raissa's expression lightened. "Finally, something to do." She promptly dropped the blanket on the floor and slipped past her father.

"Where are we setting up a work space? Do we have enough equipment for this?" She started a string of questions, making her way to the stairs, her exposed skin goosefleshing in the chilly air of the house. She didn't care however, there was lab work to do.

Sethis raised a scaly brow in confusion. "Marduk? I did not expect to see you, what are you doing here Komrade?" he asked him. He let go off doorknob and shook his hand, his other hand still at his side with the blade hidden in the palm of his hand for now.

as you walk down the hallway you pass krausus who is smoking in the hhallway, he notices you come by and he crushes the pack of cigarettes involutarily in his hand as your father runs up and covers you with a cjacket.

"CLOTHES Raissa! CLOTHES"

"Krausus got in contact with me.....We should be heading out, you want to go get some breakfast while i get you up to aspeed?"

She shrugs off the coat. "Screw clothes, old man. They can be worn when there are less important things to do." Raissa stops at the top of the stairs and looks back at Gunther. "Where are we set up? You seem to not want me wandering around the house with no pants on."

Her gaze turns and spots Krausus and the small smile drops a little from her face. "It could have been worse." She took a few steps down the stairs.

"I could have had no shirt either."

As Sethis open his mouth to speak, he heard shouting down the hall and stuck his head out the doorway to see what the commotion was. Seeing a half dressed Raissa, an obviously excited Kraussus, and Gunther chasing her daughter with a coat. "Well, I am awake now." Sethis chuckled to himself with a surprised look on his face. 'I think any male species would be.' the thing hissed in head in agreement. "He looked back to Marduk. "Alright, sounds gut to me. Have not eaten anything for awhile." He said motioning him to lead on.

krausus blurts after raissa as gunther throws him a venomous glare.

Kraussu shrugs as he chases his daughter down the stairs and leaders her into the lab that the basement was made into.

He spreads some papaers out across his desk as he pulls out what looks likje a cryo storage chest.

Krausus waves over at seth as they approach and nods to marduk.

"Marduk has wanted to defect for a while now....Igabve him a reason to."

Marduk chuckles and pats seth on the back.

"I never expected either of you would."

Raissa lets out a derisive snort. "Don't act like you care now. Don't try to be my father. You had five years to do that. Now we're co-workers with a semi common goal."

She looked down at the bandolier of vials she still had strapped to her thigh. They were her most potent and rare concoctions. She had once considered suicide with a cocktail of them, but she hadn't been able to bring herself to waste them like that, she had made a cocktail of much less potent chemicals, which had obviously not worked.

She busied herself, setting up a neat work station before walking over to read the papers her father had spread out on the counter.

"To be fair, we got just recently got really gut reasons to do so." He said to Marduk with a smirk. He looks to both of them. "Food was promised so lets go and I have not eaten for a few days, and oh, what are doing too." he said to both of them

He stopped for a long moment.


"Even after all these years you do not see....DO you blind yourself to the truth or do you select what you see raissa... I did all i cvould to protect you by remove you from my side. I knew waht this project would do to my family, i knew waht darkness it would bring so i removed you rom it and from me. YOu can harbor all the hatreds you want unti lthe day i die, but you will at least show me the damn respect you would show any other high ranking liar youve worked for."


Without a word he slams the papers before her.

'here is the formula for the serum...ISnce you want to perfect it, you will get to extract the growth agent we will need for it...."

He points over to the frozen body of a gfhgoul.



"Its in there...Thaw it, culture it, and slice the glands free from the salivary sacks."



WIthout another word he turns aweay from her and walks upstairs, slammign the door behind him hard enough that it rattles from tis hinge.

Krausus leads the two ss officers to the table and he sits heavily as three coffees are borught out.


"The op were about to go on is going to suck horribly....Weve found cultures of the poision in some bunkers used in world war two.....Getting to them is going to be tricky

"How bad are we talking about?" he asked before taking a mug of coffee for himself. The warmth felt nice to him through his scales as he just let the mug sit in his hand as he continued to talk. "Bad as in 'Secured with guards wall to wall' or 'abandoned and things now inhabit the insides'?" he explained as he took a sip of the contents in his mug.

Raissa stares at the door for a few moments before walking over and closing it securely, popping it back into place. "I didn't care about being protected...all I ever wanted was for you to acknowledge me again....I thought you had forgotten who I was after she left...that I didn't matter."

She rested her back against the door and pulled out a common poison and a syringe from the bandolier on her waist. She loaded up the syringe to three CCs, inserted the needle into the vein on the inside of her elbow, and injected the poison. The fluid moved into her body quickly and the pain started immediately. Pain always focused her mind.

She pulled up a chair and sat in front of the counter, reading the papers.

you dont hear anything for a long moment as you stand at the door. but you hear a heavy weight slide down to the ground outside it.

Raissa removes both bandoliers and sets them on the counter. She turned on the chair and looked at the door. She stood with a heavy sigh and walked over to sit against the door like her father was doing on the other side.

"You say you were trying to protect me but you didn't stop them that day...even when I stood in front of that gun you didn't even so much as flinch for me...Why were they there....why didn't you protect me then?"
