"I somewhat hoped that it would not be wetwork but looks like we can't have everything." Sethis said more to himself than to his mother as he thought over what he had said to Kraussus last night. 'Babysteps Sethis, babysteps.' he thought to himself before his attention was caught by mother's posture. "Is there something wrong mother?" He asked her, wondering why she acted like this with Krausses, this not being the first time either since they had arrived here. It gave him the feeling she either knew something about him that Sethis didn't, or she simply didn't even approve him being here. Especially after his mother almost suggested leaving him earlier at the gas station when they first met.

your mother watches krausus leave, as if waiting for an attack that doesnt arrive.

 

"There is nothing wrong child...I just dont trust the eyes of a demon..That is all..The corruption has taken even greater root than when he was a child and his father refused the wickermans help. I just worry about him being near you is all."

"Ok. What is this corruption in him you keep speaking of?" He asked his mother, now growing concerned for his brother. What was in him that needed the help of a mythical being to get rid of in the first place? And him in danger from Kraussus? He's never done anything toward him, or even hinted at possibly doing it either. It seemed so out of nowhere that he had trouble believing this at all, even if it came from his mother.

She vanishes for a moment and returns with a book, on its front is the symbol of a wolf holding a blade.

 

"The black born are the unborn....The manifestations of souls and madness left behind ....SImilar to the concept of a demon.. Once they have taken root they goad the host to greater and greater acts of violence, hoping to make him an avatar. The corruption in him is not deep...But it is incurable..ANd like an apple that has a worm, it risks eating him from the inside out."

"Is...is there anything to help him? Even if it's incurable, there has to be ways to at least stop it from getting worse right?" he asked his mother, unsure how to take the news. That souls and madness as entities taking over his brother. He has read some books on such matters, but to have something like that actually happen and happen to his brother? That is when things became all to real for the black snake varghen. "May I read some myself?" he asked as well, gesturing to the book with the wolf and knife symbol, wanting to read about what these manifestations are that wanted to take away his brother.

she places the book in your lap and smiles, standing.

 

"HIs state has to be handled by him.... If hes strong enough he should be fine. If not he wouldnt have gotten this far now would he."

 

She goes to the door and smiles.

 

"If you trust him this much, i will soften toward him."

"Thank you mother." he nodded, glad she understood where Sethis was coming from. "He is trustworthy, he'll show it. I just don't want him to go through what the Nazi's put him through again." He explained to his mother before looking down at the book. He never thought he would read another such book after the incident in the library vault all those years ago and then when they were on the run just recently ago. It also made him wonder what his mother would teach him that would help her and her order like she had mentioned earlier. "While I would like to read the entirety of the book, is there anything I could help with today? Or things to simply watch and learn before I could aid at all." He asked her, not wanting to be rude and just stay in his room to read more books the whole day. Even though that's exactly what he wanted in his life for a long time.

she smiles and cocks her head.

"WOuld you like to go with him> hes being refitted in one of our penitent armors."

"Penitent armor?" Sethis echoed the word with a questioning tone. Such a term never entails good things about something whenever it's used. He puts on his wrist blades and coat, still holding the book in one hand of course, before standing next to his mother ready for her to show him the way. "Who exactly have are we going against mother?" he asked, making sure the book was stored securely in an inside coat pocket before returning his attention to her.

she guides you to a small armory where kruausus stands with a few men, they helping him into a black suit  that can be worn under his normal trenchcoat.

 

"And peitent armor is armour completely controllable bby us. Its material can be used as a focus of our power, so if he gets out of hand we can shift blades into him or something to subdue him."

"Is that...is that really necessary?" He asked as he ignored the Gilean Cross thing for right now, the idea of blades piercing his brother's body immediately sending red flags in his mind. Yes he was just told about this corruption thing in him and what it could possibly do and blades are not the only thing they could do, but was doing this not just going to accelerate that? This felt no better than what their former superiors would do when they were still with the Nazi's. 'Oh gods, what have I gotten you into bruder?' he thought to himself

"We wont do anything that will hurt him as long as he doesnt get out of control."
 

YOur mother says, sensing your hesitation as krausus is handed his weapons and coat.

"If you dont move your going to be left behind son."

Sethis briefly wondered if these scenarios were coming up on purpose now considering he faced a very similar one just yesterday before returning his thoughts back to the present. "We will be back soon mother." he said quickly as a goodbye before heading over to Krauss, ready for another assassination mission even if it wasn't what he wanted his brother to still be doing after finally leaving himmler and the regime.

Krausus is checking his wrist blades as he sees you come over and he smiles.

 

"Hey there Bruder.,...YOu sure you want t o come?i can handle some wetworkl. Im sure youd be eager to start pulling your place here."

 

he fits his facemask and grins.

"If I stayed here, I would have just been worrying about you rather than focusing on whatever I was doing. I'm just cutting out the middle man and tag along." he said as he fixed his cap and buttoned up his coat, making sure his clothes were in order and decent. He would have liked to stay and explore this new field to study, but he couldn't do that in good conscious while they had his brother go on with more wetwork instead of letting him do something different.

krausus says with a small chuckle, testing some wqrist blades.

 

"This isnt my first rodeo.... I can tell how advwerse you are to work like this now....WHy not stay back>? ill be ok just jabbing and stabbi,g..Its cathartic ."

 

two other members of the order open a rift and on the other side what looks like a school can be seen.

"I've been doing exactly that for several years now Krauss, what is one more mission on top of that at this point?" Sethis reasoned with a shrug of his shoulders. "And I got you into doing these jobs again, the least I could do is help and try to get them to give you something different later like....I don't know, baking maybe. Something were you do not have to think that being a weapon is all you're good at, something." he explained as well before doing a final check over on his gear and uniform.

Krausus says nothing as he walks into the room through the portal, and instantly a scream riops through the space, showing as krusus visibly twists the corpse of a guard like a giant wringing a rag and casts it aside and one of the hooded brothers chuckle.

"Knives will always be knives even if you shift their focus from cutting people to cutting dough."

Sethis sighed in a mixture of frustration and annoyance. He never did like it when someone tried to give opinions he didn't ask for, and that happened a lot when he used to do research. "Try cutting a side of beef with a tri edged twist dagger and see if that analogy still holds up." The serpent said simply as he goes to follow Kraussus into this building, wondering what will be awaiting them here.

as you get into the portal, you can see you are in a school in waht looks like berlin. The guard that krausus had killed lays in a heap in front  of you, his head twisted all around and his helmet emblazxoned with a black cross. Krausus stands away fro myou, standing in the shadow of the door as he looks outside, already guaging the action hes taking.
