After finishing the Dark Crusade campaign, I'm in the mood for Tau. Not really got a detailed list to throw in, buuuuut...

HQ: Farsight
Can't do enclaves without Farsight. Can run the three suits below as his bodyguard instead, making a tank hunter farsight bomb, and allowing me to take either a Cadre Fireblade or an Ethereal - for those that don't know, they're actually worth taking now.

Tau Commander (Dat BS5 doe)
Two bodyguards - Fusion blasters, assorted Flamers and Plasma rifles.
A very mobile unit for tank and TEQ hunting.

Troops
Firewarriors - 4 squads of 6 with one drone each.
Extra drone to help with LD checks and soak a bit of S3/4 damage. Otherwise in squads for mobility and harassment potential. Screw Kroot.

Elites:
Stealthsuits: Three with burst cannons.
Oddly tough, with a 2+ cover behind an aegis, and more mobile S5 support. One fusion blaster at BS3 isn't worth it IMO

Crisis Team: TL Fusion Blaster, TL Burst cannons/ TL Missile pods, TL Plas rifle
A versatile team, used to redeploy to where they're needed to hold the line.

Riptide: Because feth you, that's why.

Heavy: 2 man Broadside team with Velocity trackers.
2 man broadside team with Velocity trackers.
My anti air. Also mess up tanks and MCs nicely, so there's that.

Looking good? Any suggestions? I plan on running Enclaves, so no Kroot, vespid, etc, and no Ethereals. Anything else is fair game.

I would suggest running another Riptide, cause they are better in pairs. Are you running 4 Broadsides or just two broadsides all together? How many points is this list you want to make up now? Do you want it to be competitive or just fluff?

Consider Forgeworld XV9's. They each can have 2 guns (read not twin linked) that are something like Stength 5, AP 4, Large Blast. Fucking brilliant for killing horde armies

Not much on the competitive front, two pairs of broadsides (4 total). It's gonna be a slow grow army but it'll end up at about 2k points.

While two riptides would be funny, I don't really want to run two because it means dropping either the stealth or the crisis team, as well as being slightly too harsh on my wallet (hey, I'm a student ).

I don't like them. Don't look Tau-y enough for me - too slim, but not curved. Doesn't fit either the vehicle or battlesuit look IMHO.
