Imperial guard, because they are like a crossbreed of the Red army (russian) and the Wehrmacht (German) from world war two

The Space Marines or the Grey Knight army..

SM b/c of the amazing background and lore behind them and my uncle got me into them as well as the High Elves from Fantasy TT when I was younger

Grey Knights because #MattWard #FuckYeah

To stand upon the bedrock of law is our great duty. To presume to stand above it is our worst heresy.

Blood Angels with Red Thirst and Death Company

Although they ae less effective ever since Furious Charge stopped giving +1 Initiative. (I think, I stopped playing after I read through 6th Ed)

Mine have to got to be ultrmarines ba but my favorite sm chapter has got to be the exorcists. An amazing lore of the chapter. There inatation is locking a man in side a room n getting possessed by a daemon for 24 hours. If they are unchanged, daemons cant see their souls so they are awesome for fighting daemons. They went 98 - 1 to on trials on a daemon world. Total kick ass sm chapter.

their armour was coloured black and upon it was drawn chilling images of bones and fire, and on their helm they bore skulls... Like the bones of men in the torment of purgatory they were, and yet not a sound did they make...

The army I enjoyed playing the most was my Might of The Imperium army (Apoc).

  • 11 Leman Russ Standard
  • 3 Leman Russ Demolisher
  • 3 Leman Russ Vanquishers
  • 1 Laser Tank Destroyer
  • 1 Command Russ
  • 6 Basilisks
  • 6 Autocannon Sentinals
  • 6 Lascannon Sentinals
  • 3 Shadowswords
  • 1 Valkyrie
  • 200 Guardsmen
  • Gaunts Ghosts
  • Forgeworld Cadian Command Squad
  • Inquisitor
  • 24 Grey Knight Terminators
  • 32 Grey Knights
  • Shrike
  • 3x Jump Chaplains
  • 6x Assualt Marine Squads
  • 4x Scout Squads w/ Snipers
  • 50 Tactical Marines
  • 3 Drop'Noughts

Worked out to be about 30000 points after upgrades. The Shadowswords are BS3, +1 for Targeter Upgrade, +1 for Formation = BS5 12" Templates of Strength D goodness.

Sadly I used to have hundreds of photos but the hard drive kinda exploded last year so lost all but the ones uploaded to Photobucket. Small blessings
[/spoiler]

Only got to play 1 match at my full complement because few people here in NZ could amass an army to fight me; I had been collecting before I left the UK, and continued to import when I moved to NZ whereas 40K is more niche here than the UK.

I had to sell that army to pay for food at Uni (Recession and all that) but I rebuilt the Raven Guard component as they remain my favourite faction in 40k.

  • Shrike
  • 20 Assault Marines
  • 4 Scouts 2/ Snipers, 1 w/ Missile
  • 15 Tactical Marines
  • 5 Devastators - 2x Plasma, 2x Missile
  • 1x Bubblecar
  • 1x Bob The Drop'Nought
  • 12x Fire Warriors
  • 1x Cadre Fireblade
  • 1x Hammerhead

The Tau are simply to get me a Hammerhead because lets face it, that tank is OP as hell in small games. Bob's Multimelta so far has accounted for a glorious amount of expensive tanks and a rather cocky Gazgul who blew him up then died in the fireball.

Necrons.

Who needs close combat anyways?

Check out the app called Verge I Created: http://goo.gl/OFW1yl. It's only for android now, but will be out for iPhone in the near future!

It essentially allows you to share your location with your friends, family, coworkers, etc through a group in the app. You can find everyone in your group's location by pressing a button (assuming they respond to the request), and plot it on a map. From there you are given a point that is equidistant from everyone. With this you can find a place to search for and meet up and send this location to everyone in your group telling them thats where you want to meet. There's no need to enter any addresses, and all you need to do is click a few buttons.

Space Wolves. I love the lore, and that wolf standard in a grey hunter pack is lethal. Not so keen on the rules surrounding bjorn fellhand's death, but the more I play the more I love them. Best opponents I've faced were orks (they won by killing bjon and I failed to reach him.) Dark angels (they just pounded me with a p cannon, and I just couldn't get rid of it) and white scars (I was just totally out classed.) Good games, all of them.
