Welcome to Gothic Wars 2.0!
Just a brief run down of some of the things you need to know to get you off the ground with 2.0.
- Almost no Private Messages were converted from 1.0 to 2.0 due to a bug. They will be brought over later (if possible) as we're waiting on a support request from our software vendor
- Not all Avatars converted so you may need to upload it again
- You need to re-upload your avatar in order to get the site fully working anyway as the Profile Photo serves more functions than Avatar did.
- e.g. Your Avatar will appear on the sliding banner above when you re-upload it
- Note: 2.0 supports Gravatar

- Signature limits are now enforced programatically
- 1 Image (500x200) and/or 3 Lines of Text
- GWRS 1.0 Groups will be deleted on the 1st of January 2014
- Group Leaders need to make their 2.0 group before then
- Group Leaders should make new forums with the same names as their old ones so we can transfer all their old posts for them - we won't have to see the posts to move them after all
- There are no Faction Banners in 2.0 for the foreseeable future
- Blogs have limitations
- Premium members, Admins & GC only
- Blogs need to be Moderated before they go live
- All ranks can view Blogs, but only those who make them can comment on them
- The "Last Post By Guest_<Name>" thing on the Categories displayed on the Forum Index is an artifact of conversion and as we post more things it'll dissappear
- You can connect (and register) through Facebook, Twitter and Steam
- This is found in your User Settings (drop-down arrow beside your name)
- This allows you to share to Facebook & Twitter quickly
- This allows you to update you status and tweet from GWRS (drop-down arrow beside your name)
- There will be bugs
- I spent 8 hours setting up Group permissions, so there will undoubtedly be things I missed or got wrong. When we collapse down the number of "Forum Groups" (from 70 -> ~ 8) we'll be redoing and rechecking them all, if you spot something let us know.
- Fancy Forum Icons (Yellow Book icons on Forum Index Categories) will be done later, for now we're using generic ones (aforementioned Yellow Books)
- Friends-lists might have duplicated, if you use them then you may want to check them
- Some features are not currently enabled for the purposes of speedily getting 2.0 launched
- Awards
- Subscriptions
- Market
- Tapatalk
- Head Mods and Admins are now the same group
- Custom Background might not work for everyone, they will work after the purge January 2nd 2014 though
- Custom forum layout may not work for everyone either
- There are 3 'Styles' of Forum Layout to choose from - click the Tools menu bottom right
