• US East Coast: Saturday 29th March 5th April 4pm
• UK: Saturday 29th March 5th April 8pm
• New Zealand: Sunday 30th March 6th April 9am

What?

• Civilization 5
  • ​Brave New World
  • Gods and Kings
• Team Based
• All Victory Conditions
• 3 or 4 Minute Turn Timer
• Likely A Team Based Map (Start Together)
• Game will be hosted out of the US for lag reduction reasons

Some Details

• Teams will be either 2 or 3 person to a team, depending on the quantity of players attending.
• If you quit or crash the AI takes over, you can rejoin later but you have to accept the AI will not be onto the strategy you were using. 
• Rage quitters will never be invited back
• Being a dickhead will get you kicked and never invited back
  • ​We hope to separate teams by oceans so they need caravel to attack each other, therefore providing a good 'no rush' window
• VoIP is not required, and is up to each team to arrange if they want it
  • ​​Teams will not be mingling in VoIP
  • If different teams use the GWRS Teamspeak we can arrange private channels for the event
• Once I announce the number of teams, people can arrange who they want to be with or ask me to assign them where needed
• Game will likely last 6 hours and there will be no intermission​ 
  • ​Can go later if people want to keep playing
  • If you need to leave for a break you can quit and let the AI take over
• The idea is to have FUN

We're one person short of the last team 3 spot, I hope by the end of the week either Pilot or JC can claim it. The spot will also be open to peoples friends if we can't fill it with GWRS people. If you would prefer to be on a different team then either respond with a solution here, or PM me; it will be easier to shift teams around if people can come to me with pre-discussed team arrangements (ie talk with the 2 people you want to play with)

Are you sure we should have time victory turned on? It seems to strangle creativity as people just wait for time out. And what are we doing regarding leaders? My vote would be for all random leader so that there are no arguments regarding who wants which leader.

I'd prefer not to have time victory on and random leaders I don't really mind about. I've played about 6 leaders and every leader has advantages some that are more lets say usable and practical or some that are only good in certain places/times.

 

As long as it doesn't turn into "Let's all kill Dx" and I have to brutally kill you all individually then I'm happy =D

Sorry forgot that condition existed, we don't consider it to be a victory condition. It therefore won't be on

We have lots of people putting their name forward which is epic to see. Without the 'possibly' people we have 9 players. That's 3 teams of 3 right there.

 

I would prefer to do teams of 3, so right now it's a good number; if more people sign up we'll aim for 4 teams of 3 if we can but can change the number of teams and number of team members easily enough.
