I'll be there for the 5th though, unless everyone can't be arsed and I go and play with myself on Civ 5...

The 29th is my date, not yours. When I am playing it's 11 hours behind, so 9am on my 29th is your 10pm on the 28th.

About to head to bed, see you fuckers tomorrow morning. You will need to add me on Steam (lienhart2005) and for gods sake message me on here to tell me who you are (I ignore all requests unless I know who they are). 

 

In terms of how tomorrow is going to work, we'll make the game and I'll invite people. We'll use the lobby chat (type) system to arrange teams and then each team can choose how they want to communicate. You can use Teamspeak, Skype, XBL, ingame team type chat - whatever you want. 

 

If we don't have enough people to make even teams we'll take volunteers to be on their own, or have one team of derps slightly larger than the other teams. 

 

Start times are listed in the OP and I expect the first 20-30 mins to be delays while we arrange teams; do NOT rely on this delay, we WILL start without you if you're not in the lobby within 15 mins and not before we're ready to start. The game will likely take 4-6 hours, so get snacks and meals planned accordingly!

Game is fun, but it seems overly prone to being trainwrecked.

 

We had ebony quit because his brother was using too much bandwidth (therefore causing lag) and he wouldn't address the issue (or wasn't able to - see below). Then we had Draco rage quit because he now had an AI team mate so the rest of us we ended up with two AI races on the same team; the resulting conflict and bribing of city states pretty much fucked the game for my team. Highly pissed off and am unsure if I will bother with organizing the Civ 5 day next week.

 

@Ebony - you need to get QoS (Quality of Service) enabled and configured on your routers. It will basically only come into effect when someone is leeching all the bandwidth and it will basically throttle them so they cannot slow down any other device on the network.

Fuck sake... Wish I didn't have work last night. Would have been so much fun to culturally destroy you all with my mastery of the social policies....

 

Let me know if you do set up another match and I'll stay through till the end or until there is a very very bright glow on my capital and hordes of X-Com units taking my Capital AKA I'm dead. Although depending on the state of my team they could revive my civilization... Or can you not do that online?

Cru, and all others concerned, I apologise for last night, you can blame my dad who apparently doesn't think that gaming into the morning is acceptable. he effectively kicked me off the pc and that is why I had to quit. sorry about that.

EDIT: Turns out my router does not support QoS. What the hell!
