They have redone Age of Mythology and I'll probably look into to getting it when its a bit cheaper or is on a good offer. 

 

The visuals weren't bad in Age of Mythology but with them being redone to look better isn't a real problem for me.

 

Might be more compatible with Windows 7 and onwards as well =)

 

 

Although updated water graphics aren't exactly a necessity...

AoE2:HD was good, so I expect this will be good too. Loved the game years ago, intend to buy it

Hmm. Seems interesting. I played the hell out of Age of Empires 2. If it gets good reveiws here Ill pick it up and join in the fun.

Well you could get Age of Mythology just not this version. It is a good game.

 

Has four races (Norse, Greeks, Egyptians and Atlanteans) each are pretty diverse with their units. EG Greek units are more powerful but cost more than the other races. It might have changed that with the Atlanteans who can make any of their units into Heroic units who.

Then each race has to choose a Major God.

Norse Major Gods - Odin, Thor and Loki

Egyptian Major Gods - Isis, Set and I think Ra

Greek Major Gods - Zeus, Hades and Poseidon

Atlantean Major Gods - Kronos, Gaia and Oranous 

 

Then each time you advance exactly the same as in other Age of Empires games you can choose a lesser god who will grant a mythical unit, God power and upgrades to a certain group (Archers, Siege, Builders, Buildings etc). 

 

Is quite an enjoyable campaign for the original which starts of with an Atlantean hero Arkantos who at the time of the game they use Greek units as Atlanteans were an expansion team but they go chasing a Minotaur who steals the Trident of Poseidon. Goes on for a while but allows you to use the others races as well. I would go into more detail but that would be spoiling the campaign.

 

The Expansion adds in a campaign that takes place after the first and you have Arkantos' son Castor basically they start to worship the Titans over the Greek Gods which pisses off the Greeks. Was another fun campaign. =)

 

Great now I feel like playing Age of Mythology...  I would definitely recommend Age of Mythology even the older version that doesn't have the updated graphics.

If I remember correctly, hades was OP as all hell, as any troop would come back too life as a shade when it died, meaning you would continuously throw really cheap troops at the enemy, then throw hundreds of shades right after. Good times.

Age of mythology. my favorite main gods were Hades, Set, and Loki. good times.

Well there is a possibility that Hades' dead soldiers would return as shades. Not always but there is a chance.

 

I would say Loki could be worse as just get an army of Hersirs and their funny names then when attacking random Norse Mythological units appear. Fire Giants, Einherjar and all those other fun Norse Mythological units just start appearing everywhere. I would think that is worse than Zeus having twice the amount of favour as any other god or Thor having a special armoury and Dwarves...

I would say I can see a lot of GWRS madness on that game... but no one would turn up, and the people who do would crash out.

 

My little group of players will be playing it however, fuck the rest of ya'll ^~
