By the time abrega returns the company has disassembled mosty of the weapons and everyone just sits around, basiking in the warmth of the fire as solgin looks up.

 

"Welcome back dere Abregaa.....What be the problem?"

"No problems Solgin, for once, in fact we might have an advantage if everyone does their parts right." The commander said before sitting down with Solgin and the rest of them, a bit difficult with his size and tail. "If what Augustus told me about Detroit is accurate when we get there, there's two groups we'll have to deal with. Some Drachen Blut remnants from Blake hills under someone named Talisman and a Commander that even he was wary of with a son we could probably sway to our side." He summarized the important bits of information. "It's going to be guerilla fighting in an urban environment, so our armor is going to be vunerable unless we just start leveling buildings, something we should probably avoid if we want the civilians on our side." he also mentioned.

solgin shrugs.

"For da most part aint dese here cities mostly ruins with a centralized hub? and what about da gools? Maybe we can bait some ghouls behind us and use them as a detterant."

"There could be squatters or other people among the ruins, getting away from centralized authority or from that commander. While having more cannon fodder is tempting, it'll probably be too much hassle in the end to deal with if we're trying to be diplomatic with the son first." Aberga commented, thinking over the tactic first before dismissing it. They used it often before, sending out a wave of ghouls as a distraction or to deplete a minefield or enemy ammunition. "If we can get in contact with him first, could be easier on us getting in the city and see what we're dealing with. Of course this will have to remain unnoticed by this commander if we want it to succeed."

"It's not about being seen or not Solgin, it's the message it would give off." He corrected him, not sure where the bat got the idea Aberga was trying to be stealthy about this. That shit is for the silencers. "Not sure how many people can even recognize what a silencer looks like, let alone who's here. But us? People know us, we're the ones that come to put boots on necks wholesale when they get out of line and there was no dirty tactic we won't use. And I don't think most people know we've went off the reservation and ditched Ho siht, I want to keep casualties light for this upstart rebellion till we actually establish ourselves before withering out and die." he reasoned.

cain sits on the barrel of a tank cannon, the silencer incredibly creeping amoungst all of them as he smirks.

"Most of the poulace has no idea what a islencer is....They think where shadows or demons."

Aberga pointed at cain and nodded. "That's what I mean, this is a rebellion, we don't have a stable line for anything now, food, muntions, recruits, it's going to have to come from people that hated ho siht otherwise we'll have to keep bashing our face in against ho siht compounds to get what we need. And that's not viable in the long run. If we're going to get help from sanctuaries and whoever we come across, which is going to be hard if they think we're just going to raid and pillage them."  He explained, glad to know someone was thinking the same thing as he was. "Lieutenant Valentine could probably work some of her magic, getting some harder to get things from....less than scrupulous sources, maybe even spread the word through the underground that way. But Detroit is going to be our first impression for public at large, a chance I'm not willing to fuck up."

"Theres a prison complex that i want us to hit when we get there...Its called the spire of pain. I hear its a major resource of old world weapons. Seeing as alot of new world shti had VID chips i want that cache so we c an fight reliably."

"Hm, what an enchanting name for what I'm assuming is a lovely place."  Aberga said, uncharacteristically sarcastic, but agreeing all the same with the reason. "When we get there, I want to know everything we can on the place. Whatever we can scrape up from the locals or even archives if those aren't touched. Floor plans, if the walls are reinforced or not, and most importantly whose in charge of the damn place." he said as his own condition on the idea, not wanting to end up in some sort of death trap hand have hundreds of their people killed needlessly because of it.

cain says with a smirk, jumping down and patting abregas arm.

 

"I got the headtakers running recon, than ill have the silencers begin intel amassing once we get to the gates."

he winks at abrega with a chuckle.

 

"Get some rest and well be moving out."

Aberga wanted to roll his eyes but stopped himself from doing it out of the fact of how unprofessional it would have been, especially infront of his men. At the very least he'll be getting the intel he needed to start on planning on taking down this Spire of Pain. "I'll rest when everything is packed and ready to go and not a moment before. Now excuse me, have a railgun tank to make sure is salvaged before we leave." he said as he took his leave, planning on making sure Head Engineer Sillenum had no issues with the slavage operation, and then to Dr. Volter to check on the wounded, then finally Valentine to see the overall progress of getting the troops mobilized again.

everything falls into line and soon everyone is asleep, readying for the coming day .

 

you sleep long and deep, unti lthe first rays of sun peak into the windows of the tanks and cain can be seen, crouching atop a tank as he drops an apple into abregas open mouth.

 

"Move out godzilla.. Lessgo."

Instead of removing the offending fruit that Cain dropped into his maw, Aberga snapped shut on it and started munching on the whole thing as a morning snack before nodding up to Cain with a deep grunt of acknowledgement. Despite his upbringing in military service, and constant energy from a nuclear source, he was not a morning creature. He nudged his shoulder to rock Tina who slept up against him, using him like a scaly pillow, to wake her up too. "You heard him, got shit to do." The pseudo varghen grumbled to her. Not being a morning person either, She yawned and sluggishly got up to let Aberga get up as well. "Sigh...fine, guess I'll get the Ghosts up too. Stay safe Glowstick." She said with a quick peck on Aberga's cheek before crawling out of the tank to get the Ghosts of Trinity ready or today. "You too shortstack." He said, more awake now, watching her go before getting on the comms and having the officers mobilize their transports. They have a city to take, and a citadel to break.

the unit moves as one wquickly, and just as the last tank goes out, yo ucan see the war beast mister jingles release several salvos of gunfire into the facility, leveling it with startling precision.

 

"SMart move.."

SOlgin says, leaning agaisnt the hull of the tank as it grinds forward, his eyes obscured by a cowl as he rests.

 

"da bones hold some dark tings in our future doe boss."

"I think even I could have made that guess Solgin." Aberga replied as he watched the smoking ruins of the medical storage facility shrink as the distance between it and them grew. It was a good move having the prehistoric warmachine do the damage instead of his company, making it look like it they had heavy casualties and not an outright burn and run. "....Anything specific or just vague news of doom and gloom?" he asked the shaman bat, turning away from the scene now to pay attention to him.

in the distance mister jingles whines at being left and charges after the tank colum. falling into line with his handlers

"....Sigh, you got to be kidding me." Aberga said under his breath, mostly for his own benefit as his mind wrapped around the idea of a third entity that was as dangerous as Augustus and Nightmare. "...Whatever it is and its intentions are, unless it's on this continent, we will just have to keep an eye and ear on what's going on in the world and focus on what we're doing here for the mean time." He reasoned before shifting his attention to ahead of the column instead, wondering just what the future had in store for them, and if this new thing could bleed.

you hear something, a voice, and a vision flashes before your reyes.

 

A massive cave, marked by runes and what looks like metal spheres.

 

Inside a wolf stalks the carcasses until a red light bathes the area. for a moment, a beast stands in the distance, some type of reptile,  looking similar to a raptor but bound in chains, its maw filled with razor sharp fangs  and its body bound by chains.

 

the wolfs hackles raise and they two beasts launch at one another.

 

The illusion only lasts a few more seconds, but you can plainly see a vision of a red haired  woman, her face bound by a mask that only reveals her one amber eye. Her arms are bound painfully by painful iron rods jammed through her wrists and forearms, but as she seems to acknowlege your presence, she tears her arms apart, freeing herself with a chuckle.

 

you are snapped back to the tanks grinding forward, and solgin looks at you directly. He knows waht you just saw,  his face shows he had seen it too. Saying nothing he sits up and coughs.

 

'We need to talk to dat augustus when we can next."

Aberga nodded before speaking, his mind still replaying what he saw to remember the details like it usually does. "Agreed." he said simply, letting the whole subject drop for now. As much as he wanted an explaination for what he had just saw, and more importantly why, all it would do for now was distract him from what they need to plan and accomplish right now. But he knew it bothered him, bothered him greatly, because how were you suppose to fight something on par with things that can be considered gods walking the earth? He gave dismissive snort at the idea, realizing he was letting it do exactly what he didn't want it to do, distract. Again, a time and place for everything, just not now.
