"As if that's not what they do in the first place." He grumbled, refering to the mass charged that black company had to fight off. "Why not tell your men to grab some of my phospherous shells from the gun batteries with those charges, like those Flame fougasse I told you about. Better to clean out the useless mob and make their actual soldiers go through a white inferno while the guns fire in the area infront of the wall." Aberga explained.

"becasue id rather save something like that if things go bad...I dont want all of our tools shown yet."

 

Krieg pulls out a cigarette and lights it.

 

"Your mother....I remeber a time when things werent like this...It was calmer than...Simple."

"Then where do you think it all went wrong? Other then the experiment with Cain." he asked bluntly. Aberga wondered himself during the trip from the ho shit barracks to here. It all seemed gradual instead of overnight, but he wanted to know if Krieg had something in mind or knew something he didn't.

He squeezes his arm.

" too many died to make Cain..... And me... We should've never tampered with this power... It isn't right."

"Heh, I think they said the same when I was created." Aberga chuckled lightly. "In the end Krieg, what would have those lives gone to if it wasn't into that? Casualties of some local civil war? Butchered corpses for ghouls to eat as a swarm passed through? Or be witnesses to the last moments of Humans and varghens?" He asked, still watching the preperations taking place. "Its not right, but it's also the best chance since....what? Centuries since it all started? To finally kill that thing across the ocean." He grumbled, waving a claw towards the east. "You're still you, and Cain still cain, hell I'm sure burias has been trying to say that for a while hasn't he? From my view, those lives where given to make a future that wasn't there for countless others, better then just being more bodies in the ground for nothing." he sighed before taking back out his cigar and lighting it.

In the distance, a broad figured badger can be seen, dragging the evicerated skull of what looks like a fleshheap.

 

"What in the fuck is that....SIlencers!"

 

The unit reacts with insane precision, coming to the ridge quickly.

"STAND DOWN!" Aberga quickly roared over the clacking sound of a dozens of rifles being cocked and primed, looking directly back to Krieg. "Unless you plan on shooting more friends, you're calling them back, Now." he said to the silencer commander. He didn't think Smash was in any danger, it was the exact opposite. He didn't want smash to commit a massacre of seasoned marksman over a friendly fire incident.

kreig sweeps his arm and the silencers untense and he cocks his head.

 

"Friend of yours? And is that....A heaps skull?"

 

Smash swings it over his shoulder confidently.

 

"Was easy...Just a wee little heap!"

"Gave him a ride when my convoy came across him or rather the trail of carnage that lead up to him, after fixing one of the tanks...that he squeezed the track off of." he said sighed. "Smash have you found your friend here you spoke of?" he asked the badger, not paying attention to the trophy he seemed to be taking with him.

The fleshheaps eye looks at you and its mouth moves soundlessly. Smash smiles and nods.

 

"Melinko? aye....He and i said our hellos. "

 

He smiles and slams the head down and lifts a kleg onto it.

 

"This human looks grizzled....Hes killed many."

 

Krieg nods.

 

"Im an assasin.."

 Smash chuckles.

 

"So a coward.."

 

smash chuckles as krieg tenses.

 

"Mouthy varghen..."

 

He grumbles, his fist clenched."

'Thaes would had a field day with that.' Aberga thought to himself with a side glance to the twitching head. "Smash, put him down please, he's not a people kind of human." He warned him. "This is the last thing I need to worry about." he grumbled to himself, not feeling like playing diplomat.

smash sets the commander down and krieg whipes off his arm.

 

"So....how do you plan to use this brute.."

Krieg asks, motioning at the massive badger.

"Like a fuzzy sledgehammer." Aberga said simply with a widening smirk. "Although the better question would be to outfitting him with hazardous enviroment gear. Not sure how he'll stand up to radiation and biological agents." he thought aloud, wondering just how hardy the badger is. "Especially if he's going to be fighting right next to me on occasion." he shrugged.

"YOu mean the heat?....Ive dealt with worse."

 

Krieg shrugs.

 

"Want me to have the doc once him over?"

"I mean radiation poisoning, guess it's something we'll talk about later instead." Aberga shrugged as he shook his head. He looks over to Krieg. "Might as well, just so we know he has a clean bill of health and not have something he doesn't know about." Aberga agreed. "....Do you even have doctors here?" he asked now, the thought crossing his mind.

before he can even answer, a man in white silencer armor comes forward and begins jabbing and poking smashes skin with needles and implements.

 

"I Vill Work Kwickly herr krieg.."

 

He mumbles, jabbing Smash painfully in one of his wounds , gaining a snarl from the great beast.

 

"That answer your question godzilla?"

"I guess the better question now is do you have doctors you're willing to gamble on." Aberga admended as he watched the process now. "Don't break that human smash, he's just helping." he said to the badger, prempting any action the varghen might take on the field doc.

"Youre gonna need a once over too ."

"I'm sure asking him to give me a once over is like asking a mechanic to check up on a cat." Aberga said as he snuffed out the cigar for now. "Thaes would usually be the one to do it, but if you insist." He shrugged.
