Good enough reason?

The plant where I work is getting closed, but out of 50 people around 6 are staying as a EU based sales/customer service department.

Now my boss keeps moaning that it's unfair woe as me he has to share an office with sales etc etc (he is keeping his job)

Today his latest is "why are people getting a retention bonus and he isn't"..... this may of been the final straw, I had to walk out the office, but he is actually approaching the management on the unfairness of him not getting a retention bonus.

My question, is this good enough reason to knock his block off? lol

If it results in you getting fired, taken to court on assault charges, put into prison for any length of time, facing criminal charges, or anything else in that ballpark, no.

 

I'll leave the unprofessional responses to everyone else. Just thought I'd open with the right answer.

 

But damn, I can definitely see why you'd want to.

Probably do NOT want to ask GWRS for career advice, that has the potential to go very wrong for you very quickly.

haha it's tempting, but yea until I have a cheque in my hand I will play it smart, 19yrs service so hopefully I should do ok.

doesn't help that the staff on the assembly line are explaining employement law to the HR bigwigs! lmfao

 

EDIT: Also they failed as I told them I can't have my one to one consultation on the 6th as I have a family occasion I don't want to miss, so they book me in on the 6th, and they haven't found out if my paternity leave is affected while under redundancy.

I will never work for a large corporation ever again.

LOL oh well, manager dropped some sarcastic comment this morning and I told him un-reservedly what I thought of him.

All I asked was did he want a top up for his tea, and he said it's a refil actually and pushed his cup over, all I can say is he didn't get a refil, and he knows how I feel about him now! lol

wow does redundancy usually get like this? my work PC was taken away from me as it's a high spec machine for 3D CAD etc, reason it was taken I am leaving the business (but not until the 31 Dec)

The PC they gave me is a relic and can't do pretty much anything I need it to do, and IT refuses to help as I am leaving the business.

I am now down a weeks work, with no help in sight.

Is it usual for companies to be like this?

No it is usual to freeze you out of critical information on a need to know type system, but removing tools is abnormal. The only way that makes sense is if they hired or promoted someone who is remaining.

 

I thought you weren't being made redundant?

There was a chance I would be saved but I am 100% gone now.

The tools they took from me are things I need to do my day to day job!! :-S also it's another 2-3 months before we close so I am kinda hamstrung.

Report it and make a papertrail so you cannot be fired early for lack of production
