So there has been another update to battlefleet gothic armada finally, and here are some of the more noteworthy updates:

  • you can now invite online friends to custom games
  • a lot of minor bug and texture fixes

Still waiting for the Space marine fleet DLC, although I am also now latching onto rumours that the first other races after this are likely to be tau and tyranids!

If anyone has this game and fancies destroying the fleets of the enemy sometime with me, drop me a pm!

Pilot was saying he loved it.

Unusual to put Tau front and center, especially when they have very little fluff to draw upon for their ship models. GW released a Tau fleet that looked like a bunch of shoe boxes with weapons, then Forge World partially retconned them (which is what the ship in Fire Warrior was based off). However if Tyranids are iconic, and they come hand in hand with both Smurfs and Tau in the fluff (due to their angle of approach to the galaxy in the fluff)

I will admit that it is highly unusual for the Tau to get the spotlight from the off, but I think the studio genuinely just asked the community what they wanted and it's the little grey friends that won through.

I have to admit, the game is entertaining and sticks close to the tabletop mechanics which has won fans all over. The studio has been listening closely to the community which is nigh on unheard of so I have strong hopes for future updates bringing better content. Also, considering it's the same people developing the Deathwing game, I am properly excited

I was unaware of the link between BFG and Deathwing, if they are listening to the community that is great for a strategy game - though often very bad for shooters! :D

I'm looking forward to picking it up soon. Gotta get me some Chaos Lance action (I used Chaos in tabletop)

Chaos boss the lances! One of the main reasons that they were the first faction that I took to the max level... that and chaos is always a fun to play!

One of the really interesting things is the difference in playstyles each race requires

Hopefully they balance out the crons. They took a disproportionate amount of firepower to obliterate

When they release BFG models again later tis year I'll be playing Chaos again ^^

So I have been keeping my eyes peeled, and with news of the latest patch being released there was also a release date for the space marines DLC...

you can now expect the spesss mareeens to be hitting the gothic sector on the 21st of this month! Literally can't wait to see how these change some of the online tactics.

If you still don't have this game I would recommend getting it soon.... the early adopters thing still applies until about two weeks time

I've had to abandon buying the game this month sadly, perhaps next month when I have a lot more disposable income
