I am sorely temped to get this. We could organize games over Skype :D

Or perhaps we could write a small program with scans of all the cards. So we wouldn't need to use Skype. Just have the deck present and use search and click boxes to select what card we just drew out of the deck. The only way to play would be to have the deck in front of you, but you'd be using the deck to feed the GUI

I just found the starter kit for < 50% price on a website in NZ, free shipping from manufacturer too! So my copy will likely arrive in 2 weeks

I had to special order it from my local store as they didn't have any. So maybe in a week I'll be able to check this out.

This game has some expansion packs

Tyranid

The Death Angel Tyranid Enemy Pack is a Print on Demand expansion for Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game. it includes two additions for Death Angel: a new deck of enemy cards to replace the standard Genestealer deck, and a new Location card type. The new Tyranid deck contains a variety of enemies to challenge even the most seasoned Space Marines, while the Hive Lord Location cards introduce the Tyranid’s epic and deadly overlords!

The Death Angel Tyranid Enemy Pack includes:

32 Tyranid Cards
4 Hive Lord Cards
1 Deathleaper Card

Space Marine Expansion

Space Marine Packs introduce brand new combat teams to your game, ready to blast their way into the carnage that is Death Angel.

The Space Marine Pack 1 Print on Demand expansion comes complete with two new Combat Teams and their respective Action cards. The deadly Chaplain Raziel brings his ironclad faith to the fight while Brother Adron readies his Cyclone Missile Launcher for absolute devastation. These new Combat Teams can be seamlessly incorporated into your Death Angel games to provide more versatility and more options.

Also included in the Space Marine Pack 1 are 8 Combat Team cards, which replace the original 6 Combat Team markers from the Death Angel game, making it easier to randomise and select your teams.

Mission Expansion Pack 1

Your mission is not over, and failure is not an option.

While you may have survived the harrowing challenges of Death Angel, the mission is far from over. The Mission Pack 1 Print on Demand expansion brings twelve new Location cards to provide alternate missions for players. These cards are seamlessly incorporated into your Death Angel game - simply choose whether you want to use the standard Location cards or the ones found in this Mission Pack and build your mission as normal.

But beware! New terrors have emerged in the form of Adrenal Genestealers: deathly agile and relentless. These dangerous new foes will pop out from every dark corner, unleashing attack after attack.

Also included in Mission Pack 1 is an all-new Terrain card, that will threaten to thrust unfortunate space marines out into the cold embrace of space.

Deathwing

The Deathwing Space Marine Pack, a Print on Demand expansion for Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game, includes an alternate set of Space Marines to replace the ones from the Death Angel base game.

By simply switching out a number of your base game combat teams, you can bring new strategic options to your fight against the vile Genestealers!

Deathwing Space Marine Pack includes:

• 12 Deathwing Space Marine Cards
• 18 Deathwing Action Cards
• 6 Deathwing Team Cards

Neat, I'll have to play a few more games to see how enticing any of these expansion really are.

I won't be able to afford them, but I'll be damn sure buying them as soon as I can!

Some of them look amazing

The game is pretty fun as is, that's why I'm not sure. Since I don't see how the things added can really 'improve' upon the nice straight-forward play and entertainment. Maybe more missions, but more people to choose from? More 'types' of badguys? Space Hulk is about Genestealers.

I got my actual hard copy of Space Hulk:Death Angel, and I have to say I am pleased. In light of playing it a couple times I might look into these expansion packs. So far Sergeant Gideon, Librarian Calistarius, and Brother Claudio are my favorites.

Nox and I played again last night. The Space Marines were looking straight in to the face of defeat until Brother Leon pulled it out of his ass and took out the final Brood Lord.

This is a GREAT game and I strongly encourage people to play.

That game was a loss. I know we won, but it was so definitely a loss. One of 8 made it home.

I bought this game a while ago at the local game store. It's not bad. I enjoyed it. I think I would have enjoyed it more with more players that are actually into the 40k universe. Still though its a fun co-op card game that really gets you thinking on how to complete your objectives and stay alive.
