he lets out another plume of smoke and thinnks.

"Johten, he volunteered to act as the conduit. I don't know what sort of strain it will put him through, having to ferry another's mind across his own, and I fear what could happen to him and the boys. Is there something we could use in his place, something from your efforts with the scientists conciousnesses? Or at least give him a better chance?" Thaes asked after answering him.

augustus asks calmly.

 

"I can have  the conduit battery sent that will keep a normal machine charged for years...YOu can use it to keep his body freshly charged which will keep him from dropping voltage. Ill also send some cranial ridges sent that hell have to keep in his hands when the conciousnesses seperate. From there its entirely up to the boys to survive the operation."

Thaes offered as he pulled out his own P.D.A for it's Gps functionality. He was hesitant to give him the location of where his brothers, his mother, and the people they knew and loved lived, but then again Augustus would probably already know such information and just looked for confirmation from him. And he was offering things to help them too, he couldn't be with holding information now.  " With Damien around and rival groups running around I would suggest security of sorts, I meet a few of said factions when we first landed after the boat ride. They were not exactly polite." he said, a concern in the shipping and handling of such equipment for the procedure in a hostile environment.

augustus pulls out a pda and hits a button, calling somone.

"Yea.....<alcor? call an air drop to where you are with all the requirements to transfuse a mind.....ALso send your oldset son some supercharer serums..I want my grandson to be ok."

he nods and hags up and augustus smiles.

"Damiens a fool..Dangerous but a fool..WIth Malcor your more than capable of  handling him."

"Perhaps. But I doubt he will be the only obstacle there, and there's no use in underestimating something either." Thaes said, knowing handling something unstable even when knowing it well can still be dangerous, as handling chemicals can attest to. "And thank you for your help in this Surgery, at this point I hope the boys can pull through and Johten will be himself still." he said grateful but still concerned of what laid ahead for him and everyone else involved, but first the surgery. "I...suppose I should go back and make sure everything is ready since it's my hare-brained idea in the first place."

augustus says as he sits , motioning him to stay.

'A mind thats pliable is able to expand and find an issue to the problem...I mean to be real i would take the same route youre taking."

Thaes sat back down, shocked Augustus wanted him around for even a bit longer than at all. "Well, with an unconventional problem, an unconventional solution needed. And I think I'm lucky to be raised by people who helped instill that when I was young." He said, referring not to just Nocturne, but Malcor, Eveline, Johten and Jarvan, even his mother even if he can only remember the briefest of time before exile now. ".....What was suppose to happen to Cain then? If Obrieg and me have not interefered? Has what he gone through his life really been planned out by you?" he asked him, seeing this as probably the only time he would get to ask such question about Cain and his Family.

For a moment, there is an actual look of sadness on his face. The schemer, the new molder of mankinds face looks like he was just jabbed with a blade between the ribs .

"He would have still been grafted with the organs...THat would never have changed. But it wouldve been done in a way that was more stable, more controlled and with less... Mania."

he sighs and looks at the sky.

"SOmetimes yuou have to own your sins son...Becasue no one will beleive in somone that has accidents like that happen constantly."

"......Its not owning up to the things I did, I know I did it no matter the reason behind it , I didn't want him to think I wanted to do it or even suggested it at all. He was a friend to me, despite things that happened, and his family too. Can't change what happened, but I wanted my side of this tale known before something else happened." He shook his head not sure if he was explaining it properly or just rambling now.

augustus says as he pads a cigarette.

"Take a wild guess...Ill tell you if youre right."

"....I would say countless but I think you have an actual specific number in mind." Thaes said, half joking and half knowing the man was utterly serious. "....Would it be in the thousands now? After centuries?" Thaes hazard a guess, sure he was going to be told anyways in the end. He was sure there was a more relevant point being made here, just not sure of what it'll be till it was presented but he already didn't like where the conversation was going.

When he dropped the atomic bombs.. And bore all the sins it took. But that is what happens in science son...It'll always be how the suffering of a few benefits the many."

"That....that is a lot." Thaes admitted to the number that was given, being completely off in his guess. He fell silent for a while, knowing he was right and that no matter what he did the procedure he did to him and his family was always going to sit in the back of his head. He briefly wondered what else will be stacked upon it during his life, and quickly dismissed the depressive thought. "...Is it going to be worth it in the end then? To see the suffering of people I know for the many I do not? I do not exactly have a great track record when it comes to dealing with the masses." he said, mostly referring to his village that exiled him, the ho siht staff he grew up around, and now the factions that seem to be going for johten and jarvan's throat back home.

behind you jessica puts a hand on Thaeses shoulder as the great tactician smiles.

Thaes was quiet as he had no idea what to say now. He wanted to say he believed it, that the things he's done will help people later on. But he couldn't, he knows he's done many experiments for his own curiosity. And he could not, did not, want to make the few people he could call friends, family, suffer because of him. Not for random people he didn't know. That's what made his previous ventures so easily. He just shook his head, not able to fathom himself doing something so noble in the end.

the sky roils and thaes is struck by lightning. His entire body tingles as he feels himserf disjointed, and within an instant, he is back in the hummid madagascar heat.
