I haven't read any of Gaunts Ghosts. The Imperial Guard novels just never appeal to me, I read a couple Last Chancer's novels and 15 hours, but that's about it.

I haven't read any of Gaunts Ghosts. The Imperial Guard novels just never appeal to me, I read a couple Last Chancer's novels and 15 hours, but that's about it.

Ive read Ravenor and Eisenhorn, both are pretty amazing.
I would recommend Aaron Dembski-Bowden, he hasnt written much but the stuff he has is amazing, he turns words into diamonds... Somehow. He also isnt recognised as a full Black Library author, so hes kinda rogue and does what he wants, but hes more healthy to the lore than Matt Ward is a cancer to it.
Read Soul Hunter! I used to be a corpse worshipping puritan like you, then I read that book, seriously, first Chaos book I ever read (except the HH series) and it turned me into a Night Lord.
