"Begone furry spawn of satan!" he shouted as if doing an exorcism. He dove head first into the fire pit of burning coals and hot ashes, hoping his gasmask and helmet will see him through.

He dusted off the ash and coals as best he could from his trench coat and gear. He stayed where he was, away from the hellish creature.
