Click the "Add Funds" button on the left of the UI, and down the bottom right of the next page follow the "Free Funds" link. Complete any surveys which take your fancy to get free currency. You can also opt to buy some, you really need to get the +50 Command Point and +4 Resource Package packs. We use 30 day ones, but you can use the week.
Step 2: Base Establishment
Some brief things to note here. Move your MCV to the back of the base, and put it behind the densest cluster of other buildings possible.
Pay attention to Resource and Storage buildings. They combine for certain desirable effects.
Power Generator + Accumulator = Continuous Power Generation
Power Generator + Refinery = Continuous Credit Generation
Power Generator + Crystal Field = Bonus Power Generation
Refinery + Tiberium Field = Bonus Credit Generation
Harvester + Silo = Bonus Tiberium/Crystal Generation
Make sure you combine these as best you can. You must focus on Power and Tiberium initially, Power is used for everything so you'll run out of it often. Tiberium is what builds new base structures and upgrades them. Crystal upgrades Defences and Units, it's vital but not as much as the other two initially.
Only build 1 refinery until you are saving for the MCV. Credits from offence will keep up with demand until then. If you have spare space, build more silos. Level them up to increase storage space, ideally you want to be able to logon twice a day with LOTS of stuff waiting for you.
Step 3: Missions and Sneaky Things
You'll get a mission for building a Defence HQ and Defence Fascility, then Base Defences. Do this for the mission but then SELL them immediately. While you have the protective shield you cannot be attacked, so you are wasting resources having those structures. Replace them with more Generators (< 5), then Harvesters, then Silos.
The same goes for the Skystrike Support (or Thingie of Kane on Nod FYI). Do not build Barracks, and delete unused structures, eg don't build an airport until your Command Centre is levelled enough to allow purchase of the list in Step 5.
Do NOT attack another player until after your shield is down, because it will automatically make you loose that shield.
Step 5: Offence
Get offensive vehicles in this order. Upgrade them as often as possible.
2 Guardians
1 Pittbull
1 Pittbull
1 Paladin
1 Paladin
1 Guardian
1 Pittbull
4 Firehawks - Replace 2 of the Pittbulls
1 Predator - Replace 1 Paladin
Free for all
Until you have your Paladin levelled avoid any outpost or camp with Tanks in it! Also do not attack anything higher than your offensive level +3. Your Defences, Base and Offense have their own level, only the Base level is displayed on the World Map.
Step 6: Research
Do the mission for the Pittbull, then save for Firehawks, then defensive Predators and Missle Troopers. After that get Offensive Predators, then save for the MCV.
Level 3 Camps give ~100-500 Research Points, Level 15 Camps give ~60000-80000 Research Points. (and proportionate amounts of credits). It may seem disheartening that it all costs so damn much, but within 8 days I had all of the things I have told you to get and was probably the most powerful player in the immediate vicinity.
Step 7: Defence
You get a defensive shield for so many days (a week I think). When you are two days from loosing it, rebuild the Defence Fascility, HQ, Skystrike and then base defences.
You want to basically do this
Wall - Predator - Machine Nest -Predator ...................... Predator - Machine Nest -Predator- Wall
and behind that you want to do the opposite
Wall - Machine Nest -Predator - Machine Nest...................... Machine Nest -Predator- Machine Nest- Wall
This is so your defences create overlapping fields of fire. You need Missle Troopers behind them to tackle Air Craft. The Walls and inter-locked units stop your damn tanks from moving to intercept, a good player can "spoof" defences by sacrificing one unit to one extreme side, therefore drawing off defences and allowing the next wave a free ride.
Make sure that you concentrate your base structures infront of the MCV, Defence HQ and Fascility. All other buildings are expendable in defence. Keep the Facsility levelled as much as possible, it repairs your defences between attacks.
Step 8: Understanding Death
When you kill, or loose an MCV your base "dies". It turns into a ruin and the victor gets your territory for 24 hours. The "dead" base has to be relocated to friendly, or neutral territory and repaired. The Victor gets all the resources from the "dead" base (Tiberium, Crystal, Credits) so the Looser obviously looses that, Power is just lost full stop and Research is unaffected.
The base and its defences can be repaired, no actual loss is incurred other than time, pride and resources. Obviously the base cannot attack until the Command Centre is repaired, and cannot repair Offensive units until the Air Field/Barracks/Factory are repaired.
Step 9: Alliance Consolidation & Mutual Defence
To move towards alliance from the same sector, just use the Relocate button when you click on your base from the World Map.
To change sector, click Options in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, go to Game Settings tab and click Relocate. This cannot be done with 1 day of you spawning, or within 1 day of you relocating sector. Move to the sector on the right, in the middle, then walk the base towards us 20 gridpoints every 90 mintues.
The reason to be beside each other is simple, defence and spite.
We build artilery inside our bases called Skystrike, Ion Cannon and Falcon Support. These are ranged defences that are good against Infantry, Vehicles and Air Craft respectively. You can only have 1 per base, since Nod and The Forgotten are predominantly infantry at low levels, you as GDI start with the Skystrike (Nod start with the Anti-Vehicle one FYI). This will automatically take shots at units attacking your base, but also nearby allies. So having lots of allies nearby with these things means attackers get shot at by your defences, and get rained on by artillery.
When you are killed, the name of your attacker appears as "Conquerer" on your dead husk. This allows all your brothers and sisters to swarm over the buggers like ants and take them out.

Is this game even worth it? I'm dissapointed with Castle after Tiberium 3's first update, totally fucked up the balancing
This isn't a normal CnC game, and we find it fun. Please don't discuss the game in this thread. Only the guide

Cru for the defence thing you got would it not be better to have a couple of rocked infantry between the 2 lince also?
Yeah you're right, but you cannot place them in terrain so I had a gap there. My base on World 13 (our Alliance world) is much better done.
I just wanted you to have a visual representation of layering defences
