Why such hate for the melta gun?

It's simple don't go near them. Shoot from afar. Rinse repeat.

Surely there's slightly more skill in aiming a melta and timing the shot rather than, jump, land, mash X "until man fall down!!"

Most easy kills I get with the melta are the OTHER player being unskilled. Running around a corner without being ready. Walking/running towards firing a bolter. Jumping onto my head without realising I have anti air Weapons.... endless list.

Will repeat my previous post. Its very easy to be average with the melta but it takes alot of time and work to master it.

The other thing I'm noticing is that most of the people 'moan' about the melta have never faced me or Killo. look forward to the point in which you want that level 20 melta kid to be hiding around the corner

I love the melta, it is so fun because people just keep coming back for more. At first I hated it but since I've learned it better it is a really fun weapon.

A lot of my brothers use it, I'm more so talking about improved melta guns. [Removed] I for one don't use it, unless that's all the other team uses then it's an eye for an eye situation.

Its a one man take and hold weapon. Its basically like a devastator weapon only your still breakable so you have to be skilled at dodgeing peoples bad marksmanship lol If at first you dont succeed, die, die again

I think they should've just left it the way it is in the lore, a beam weapon. The closer you are to the target the more damage you do...or something to that effect.

Let's not start making this an opportunity to take pot shots at people based on lineage or alliance. We all enjoy the game, I think a healthy debate can ensue without the need to lower the tone to that pathetic level.

Perhaps, but without the inflections and tones of speech, it's often easy to misinterpret ones meaning through the medium of the Internet. I think this is how half the problems start.

This thread was meant to simply compliment members of your or (preferably) other chapters and now it's turning into something else entirely. I'd like to request either the thread be locked or we move back on topic.

Koko of the Imperial Fists has my vote for one of the best. From what I've seen he doesn't really specialize in one area like most Tacs, but is very adaptive and can change with the situation as demanded.
