Over 70 warnings were issued by the Mod team the other day to people with oversize signatures. Firstly I would like to say well done to the Mod Team on their professional approach to how they did this audit; I was very much impressed, as you can imagine it's quite an mission to check nearly 1000 members for sig violations.

Now while almost all of them were warranted, but there will inevitably be a few who got warnings for only "just" violating the rules. If you were over the rules size by say, 5%, then you can open a support ticket and the Mods will consider removing it. (They reserve the right to ignore abusive tickets obviously!)

I have also added a new visual tool. If your signature is oversize (vertically) then you will have a scroll-bar appear. If your signature has a scroll-bar then you will need to fix it or risk Moderator action.

Lastly, Zero updated the Sig rules over a week ago to made them less confusing; I called for people to ask questions if they couldn't understand them, or any other rule for that matter. Not a single member did; remember that if you do not speak out about rules, you have no right to complain when you fall foul of them!

Make a thread or open a ticket and we will happily help you understand them; if you have suggestions on how to make them clearer we want to hear them too.

 

So I've heard "Chinese Whispers" that the Mod team has been targeting certain factions with these warnings. I don't know how this (or who) started but I'll clarify for you all.

The mod team split the memberlist up by letter, for example Zero took D, H, L, P, T, & X (I think they went round-robin till all letters were drawn). Obviously since some groups are larger than others, they received more warnings.

If you didn't get a message you're all good. Don't take my word on it because I haven't measured it, but it looks fine to me

i got a warning from thugren but i dont really want my warning stuck for a entire month since well its been my sig for moths and i fixed it as soon as i got it.

The warning is not removed when you fix your signature. If you want to, you can appeal the warning by submitting a ticket via the Support Center with a valid reason for it to be removed.

As long as it does not go pass what 500x500? And is no more then 3 lines you should be good. Well I believe that's right I'd have to read the rule again. Just to make sure.

We called for people to speak out if they found something confusing, it's not our intention. Unfortunately since the Mod team writes the rules, they understand them - this makes it hard to see what bits might be hard for day-to-day members.

The issue with your sig Rom is not the image, it's perfectly fine. It's the text above the signature, the quoted stuff is not part of the Signature for some reason. Do you have some app adding that stuff?

No I just end most of my posts with it i type it out every time manually then size and color it. Its not a part of my signature.

While your diligence is impressive, it's still a signature by definition. It will fit with your current one anyway which should save you a load of time oO

Secondly, us mods do not target anyone for moderation. We dislike hearing people upset as much a you dislike being warned we just do our job to keep the site up to code that's it... And eat jello ... Beig a mod means you get jello
