"Fuck" Dante curses inwardly. Of all the characters to run into at the carnival, he just had to find the psycho who ran it. He was going to have to change his tone or else he was going to end up in one of the horrific tournaments the barkeep spoke of.

Using sheer willpower, Dante holsters the gun, moving his hands away from his weapons in a visual sign of non aggression. "I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect..it's been one of those days. My name is Dante...I'm a mercenary. I was told I might find "Jack the Ripper" here. Can you help me? Otherwise, I'll be on my way and trouble you no further."

Dante kept the tone of his voice light. It wasn't just Sigmund who was on edge around this Nightmare...the being's very aura unnerved him. Ghouls, mutant spiders, and the like be damned, He was getting the fuck out of this hellish place.

He slowly began backing toward his motorcycle, keeping the ghastly harlequin mask in sight at all times...until he had the powerful engine beneath him and miles between him and this place, Dante would not feel safe.

as you turn around the mask hovers before you, a sadistic smile across the porcelin surface

"I like you...Alot boy, i like your attitude, i like how you work.." your sword lifts off your back and it begins to spin as glowing runes glow along its side. "You and i are going to become quite good friends dante, i want to see if your really all you think you are."


at the hilt of the blade the mask appears and you can see that the blade is now tinged a deep blue.

Dante shrugs. "Huh...now I'll have TWO voices in my head besides my own. So much for sanity." Grabbing the sword by the hilt, he slides it back into the scabbard on his back. "Hopefully you'll like what you see, Nightmare. Now let's go get Cain."

The mercenary saunters over to his motorcycle, replaces the magazine in the AA-12 with a fresh one, and revs the engine. He sighs. "I'm going to find you Cain...no matter how much fucking shit I encounter in the process."

As you tear into the night you can see large herds of ghouls moving in the distance, the herd is massive, at least a football field long, and filled with slavering walkers.

"To Vegas then...who knows, maybe I'll get lucky." Dante quips.

He didn't trust the entity now hitched to his back, but intel was intel. As soon as he got to Vegas, he was going to find shelter...he needed to stay at the top of his game, and rest was pivotal to that.

The trip is long but quiet. The engines roar is all you hear in the night as you ride. The ruin of the country are eerily silent as you move, not even the howl of a seeker disturbs the night as you notice the gauge On your bike is dangerously low

Dante pulls to the side of the road. He unstraps the gas can off of the back of his bike, and refills the tank. "Good thing I'm always prepared." Tank now full, Dante gets back on the road. "Let's see what Vegas has to offer." He smirks

As the moon rides high you see that it's no longer safe to travel

As you ride you see a fenced hotel in the distance

You can see the electric fence is still powered and figures move back and forth on patrol

Above the building a sign reads

Clean room and hot water

"This better not be a trap" Dante mutters as He pulls up next to the fence. He waits for one of the guards to pass. "Excuse me, is there a room available?"

" sure thing kid you needin a place to stay and some fuel?

He opens the gate an motions you inside

Dante pulls into the courtyard, and dismounts the bike. "Thanks...a friendly place is always a welcome sight. My name is Dante by the way...who is the owner of this establishment?" He removes the pack from the back of the bike, throwing it over his shoulder.

A small woman walks over to you and smiles

I am sonny how are you.. I am jewel owner of this hotel, the cost of a room is 12 credits a night it include food and water

Dante was slightly surprised, but the woman's presence set him at ease.

"Sounds good to me. Just lead the way, m'am." Dante reaches inside his coat for credits to pay her. "Got anything to drink? Whiskey would be really good about now."

"Theres whiskey in the cabinets and some freeze dried food in the cupboards....Rest well boy, youll be out here by noon tomorrow." she smiles and opens the door and slowly turns away, her old white hair whispering in the winds

Dante closes the door, throws his bags on the chair, and makes his way to cabinet, pouring himself a drink. Knocking back the drink, he pours himself another. "Good god I needed that. Now to see what kind of meal I have waiting for me." He also remembers he is long overdue on his serum. Opening one of the vials, He knocks it back. That would keep the bloodlust at bay.

Like a kettle taken off the fire you can sense Sigmund presence retreating as the dark mist that is nightmares form via laces beside the mirror as you search for food


Instan meals, tv dinners, and ramen noodles sit in the compact fridge and nightmare chuckles

Dante grabs one of the tv dinners and pops it in the microwave. Throwing his jacket on the bed, He checks over his AA-12, cleaning and reloading it as the food cooks.

After eating and showering, He collapses into bed, drifting off to sleep, thoughts of the long day and Vegas in the back of His mind.
