The frothing ghoul raors in fury, slowly advancing on you with a savage hunger.

"This better not get me killed." Dante mutters. The best defense being a good offense, He charges the ghoul, swinging the sword with increased strength and fury. His voice builds as He taunts the creature. "You clearly do NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE FUCKING WITH!!!"

Dante leaps toward her, reaching out for her hand. His more primal will would have preferred to stand and fight, but for once, Nightmare seemed to be the voice of reason

Reaching within His coat, Dante pulls out a grenade. Flipping the pin off with His thumb, He lobs it at the monster, planning on using the explosion as a distraction to cover their escape

A fierce smile creeps over Dante's features. "New game Tayla...tag. You're it. Loser has a 50/50 chance of getting eaten by ghouls." He breezes past her, the trusty roar of His motorcycle reassuring despite the enrage beasts behind them. "You coming babe?"

He chuckles dryly as you notice a heaavy iron wristband around your forearm

Dante speeds up to catch up to Tayla, wondering where the hell the iron band came from. It was unsettling for some reason as He was very damn sure it wasn't there before. Good news it was a good improvised weapon...the bad news, it was from Nightmare. In the back of His mind, Dante thought "I really need to find a way to get rid of this guy"

You ride hard and fast until the town is long behind you and taylas bike comes to a stop, within seconds she keels over and begins to vomit into the pavement.

Dante brakes to a stop, rushing to her side. "Tayla! Are you alright?" He reaches into his coat. As well as the (apparently useless as of recent events) serum He carried to keep Sigmund under control, He carried many remedies for the varied situations He would encounter. "There it is"

He pulls a vial from His coat, filled with a bluish liquid, which He hands to Tayla. "Drink this...it'll soothe your stomach"

She shoves you away, wretching her brains out

"i cant beleive..hes gone...Those things....Those things where not supposed to be there.."

Dante leans against his motorcycle, replacing the vial in his coat, and drawing out a flask of whiskey. Sipping it, He ponders "What do we do now?"

The realization hits him. "What do you mean they weren't supposed to be there? And what the hell are they anyway?"

" we where supposed to meet a contact there... Hunters brother ... Than those things..."

"So the contact is missing...or is he..." Dante doesn't have to finish the sentence. In the back of his mind, he contemplates the dead ends facing him (pun intended).

Gripping Her by the shoulders gently, Dante looks into her eyes, His voice taking a commanding tone. "Do you know the way past here? Like it or not, the contact is gone. We need to move on...either forward, or back to safety."

" there is a squatter camp very close... We can bunk there and use the map to guide us in the morning.

Sigusmund growls in your mind as nightmare chuckles.

" funny how things work that way..."

Dante does a brass check, reloading His handguns. "With creatures like that wandering around, there is definitely safety in numbers. Hunter died trying to get us to Cain. Let's not let it be in vain." He holds out His hand to help her up. "Let's get going Tayla."

" I can get us another contact... Lets get somewhere safe ."

There is a chuckle as the specter that is nightmare materializes beside you.
