Short Version

This system has been permanently removed due to (recent and historic) abuse and un-mitigateable potential for future abuse

Long Version

Ever since the Dernian Heresy (pun fully intended - couldn't resist ) nearly two months ago, the Staff have been running an extensive series of debates about how the different parts of the site work.

The first "final verdict" to come of that process is the permanent removal of the Reputation system. The majority of our members have shown they are mature enough to use it in a respectable fashion; however the exceptions have caused such substantial issues that the good cannot justify the bad.

Considering that there is a "Thank You" and "Thread Rating" system as well, the decision was made to remove the Reputation system. For those of you who farmed Reputation, you can now farm Thank You's and Referrals; our apologies for the inconveniences this will undoubtedly cause you.

Further changes will be announced as they are finalized, however this is the most current-member-invasive one. The rest affect are to make Staff SOP more efficient, make rules easier to follow and affect future registrations.

Still, you can get yer fix of Referrals. You must still be top of that one. Also, you're supposed to be on holiday, bugger off and enjoy yourself! /jealous

It seems a bit unfair that they get to keep them, and nobody else can get them.

I don't see a problem with this. Most of them seemed be a Chapter giving props to its own members anyway. Thank you ratio is a little better indicator of post quality and contribution but even it is almost meaningless at the end of the day.

Of course us being gamers we must have all the little numbers next to our names at the highest possible level! Also anyone with under 100 thank you's is a noob

I support this move 100%, rep points can be abused far too easily, and it's better off that moderators don't have to spend their freely given time checking reputation.

In WoW there are achievements that are impossible to get when new expansions release. Those that have them can be proud of them, those that don't can plot and steal their cookies
