So this game has been in development for a while, but they finally finished it recently (within the last week, I think). It's a game built on the bones of a space dog-fighting sim called Freespace 2. They've improved the crap out of that engine and created a really cool, authentic BSG experience! I haven't finished it yet, but so far (and to my knowledge) it is not set anywhere near the Galactica, and instead follows a different Battlestar from the start of the 'Fall' onwards.

You don't have to be a fan of space sims to appreciate this game. Or maybe you do. I don't really know. Anyway, I thought I'd share it cause it's a pretty neat (and most of all, free) game set in a world that has seen some pretty average games in the past, and was due a good one!

oO

I shall be downloading this after my exam. I always felt that BSG was the closest Sci-Fi to a future we could end up in. Firefly also makes the cake, but not in the same way

It's a surprisingly good game for a (technically) mod. Very fast paced and explosive. They've thought a lot about the physics, too. A civilian vessel blew up near my viper (wasn't my fault) and I got sent spiralling away with all kinds of warnings flashing on my screen. Not to mention the sight of a Basestar jumping in when you're already close to death is pretty terrifying.

And hey, it's free! Haha. Lots of controls to master, though. Damned three dimensional space.
