Some of you will have noticed the Acolyte Banner has disappeared. That is because we have split Acolytes (Mod Interns) and Local Mods apart from each other (and there are no current Acolytes).

Local Mods don't actually get vetted before they get the role; they are just given move/stick powers in certain forum areas to help them run that section (for example Nox's Campaign). They are not actually part of the Moderation staff.

Acolytes are Mod Interns; members who have successfully applied for a job as a mod and are being trained up to become productive and professional members of the Moderation staff.

Due to confusion the shared group caused, and the potential for abuse of the Mod tools, we have split them apart in order to better serve the community (and to make it less confusing).

Now, for those who wish to start walking the path of Moderation, there will be another thread soon regarding applications.

Only Acolytes get the green colored name. There is an announcment coming sometime very soon regarding the new application process (it's getting final grammar and accuracy check now).

No your a local moderator, like I'm now just a local moderator to the PS3 section.

JC is correct, anyone going to apply to become a mod intern (Acolyte) will have to go through the same application process I mentioned.

Yes, you will need to apply and undergo an internship (basically being buddied with a bigger Mod in order to learn and be assessed)
