Leaders/XOs just confirm in here that their chapter is attending please. (In Here is a link)

Base Rules
2 Weeks Per Round (Before Auto-Elimination)
Double Elimination
Teams of 5 (minimum)
Whole Chapter Rosters Eligible For All Games
DLC Maps Only
30 Minute Timer
2 Round System
Friendly Fire on/off
  • CTF (5 Capture)
  • Annihilation (50 Kills)
  • Capture and Control (10)

Match Organization
We will be using the Challonge! system again for tracking matchups, so I will post a thread regarding the rotations once chapters register as interested.

This tournament is very different from the previous one. You can only use the DLC Maps and Game-Modes specified above. There are two rounds this time, so each team picks one which they will host. In the post arranging the match time, both teams must declare their Loadout Rule choice, Map choice, and Game-Mode choice.

Any matches run that break the above order of battle will not count. The purpose of the rules this time are to create a DLC tournament that's a bit different in order to put every team to the test fairly. By forcing teams to declare Map, Mode and Rules in advance of the game, they can train for those and put their absolute best into the round.

Threads should be published within this Forum Sub-Section. Only Leaders, XOs and Officers can open new threads, but all members can reply. Please do not reply in threads for games you are not a part of, though you can post and congratulate the winners after the game is done.

Friendly Fire rules picked and declared just like ruleset choices.

Note: You MUST declare maps, rules and mode at least 3 days before the game. If you do not, you will forfeit that round.

Game Loadout Rules
Select a Loadout Ruleset from the below list. Variations are not allowed and Ruleset to be used must be declared in match reporting.

Game Ruleset A: Vanilla
Anything goes

Game Ruleset B: No Perks
Any Classes
Any Weapons
No Perks

Game Ruleset C: Budget Cuts
Any Classes
No PC
No Thunder Hammer
No VL
No Melta

Game Ruleset D: Bolter and Chain
Any Classes
Bolter Based Ranged Weapons Only (No Plasma Pistol)
Chainsword Assault Weapon Only
No Favour of Armoury
No Master-Crafted Wargear

Game Ruleset E: Plasma Is Fun
Any Classes
Plasma Cannon & Plasma Pistol Only
Plasma Gun & Plasma Pistol Only
Plasma Pistol & Chainsword Only

Game Ruleset F: Lobster Knife Fight
Tactical Only
Knifes Only
No Perks

Game Ruleset G: Bar Fight
Any Classes
Pistols Only (Either)
No Perks
No Aerial Ground-Pounding, or Y-Button Attacks

Game Ruleset H: Tactical Deployment
Any Classes
No Class & Loadout Swapping

Game Ruleset I: WMDs
Any Classes
Plasma Cannon Only
Thunder Hammer Only
VL Only

Spoiler

UPDATE - 03/12/2012

  • All games are by standard the maximum limiting number of possible players while maintaining even teams
  • Teams can elect to restrict players on their chosen game in any given round (3 day rule)
  • Teams must state in advance if they are aware they cannot field the expected number (3 day rule)
  • Should a team unexpectedly be unable to field agreed numbers, the other team has the right to request a raincheck if time remains in the cycle.
    • Unavoidable or unforeseeable circumstances should not harm a team and a reduced game should be played - The team receiving the apologies decides what is acceptable to them
    • Should a team reject the reasons provided for decreased play, they can refuse the game/s and the outcome is decided by tournament organizers following brief consultation - if you pick this route both teams knowingly forfeit the right to complain if you are decided against. Breach of this clause leads to instant disqualification (level appeals do not count as complaints, this refers specifically to drama)
  • Once a game starts combatants are fixed
  • Should someone "drop in" without invitation combat must cease
  • Combatants may swap in/out between games in each round

Two questions:

1. When/Where do we register?

2. If I read this correctly, each team hosts one game (or is it one best of three series?) according to the map and rule set of their choice. How are split-decisions (each team winning one) going to be resolved?

I like what I read here.

Have the same query as

2. If I read this correctly, each team hosts one game (or is it one best of three series?) according to the map and rule set of their choice. How are split-decisions (each team winning one) going to be resolved?

Also no mention of FF; is this base rule? optional.

'Game Ruleset G: Bar Fight
Any Classes
Pistols Only (Either)
No Perks'
Fun but problematic!?, i.e. straightaway thinking assault is the way to go, but accidential!? groundpounding may result in chapters falling out (as in using a groundpound to escape a fight and then ground pounding a unseen opponent/s).

I hear ya Envy! But the the Fists wont be abusing any rules, but it's for sure worth looking at. With the DLC only it will be VANILLA all day.
How about for the determining the 3 round we do a ore game roll of dice on here. It's kind of like a coin flip in MeriKan Football, or a champion/honor duel before each fight.
For example, the Wolves and Fists are going at it. The leaders each roll for who has control of the 3rd round.

Wolves - /roll 1d10

Fists - /roll 1d10

Highest roll determines who has control. I realize posts can be edited so once done the post can not be edited or the other team automatically gets control.

Fair enough?

1) Replys in here saying "we're" in work for me, I'll give it a week before I start arranging rosters

2) Each team picks a map, ruleset and gamemode they will host during the 2 match round. Scores will be reported and I will use math equations to convert the scores into a comparison system. I'll post those up before the match start, so anyone who wants to check the math can do so. I doubt we'll be unlucky enough to get a point for point draw, if we do we'll arrange a Champion Tiebreaker.

FF on/off should not affect the match since you have to declare things early so if you want to kick it up that notch further then go ahead.

As for that groundpounding, I forgot about that and find it amusing everyone forgot about it for the month this was being debated by leaders. Altering it now

There's only 2 rounds Gerhart, however your suggestion about roll off is how the Champion Tournament is running

My mistake Crucias, sounds good. I would like to see ALL tournaments mandate FF ON, as that's the way all other matches are played. The only one we have done recently that wasn't was against a group who ran only plasma cannons and Master grenades/favor of the armory.

That's a debate for another time (forcing FF). However, teams can select FF. I'll add it to rules

Sounds like a fun tournament with only DLC Maps. Also some of those loadouts would be crazy to play an entire match with.

I wanted to cater to both normal players, and the bat shit crazy ones. Truly awesome players should be able to win with any ruleset
