Greetings Brothers. For those of you new to Death Watch here is a synopsis:-

As a Space Marine, you have already faced, and defeated, countless numbers of the Emperor’s foes. You have taken part in planet strikes, descending in drop pods upon columns of fire, and brought the Emperor’s justice to the unclean. You have boarded haunted space hulks and purged with bolt and flame the slavering creatures lurking within. You have descended into the very bowels of the mightiest of hive cities, and emerged victorious over the ultra-violent forces of recidivism and heresy.

However, all of that was just the beginning. In the Deathwatch, the true horrors that seethe and gibber and hunger to devour the soul of Mankind await you. Only the very strongest are selected. Only those most blessed in the eyes of the Emperor prevail.

Serving the Deathwatch, you will face untold enemies. Some you have already met in battle and defeated many times over. The barbarous Ork, the perfidious Eldar, and the ravening Tyranids all await you, in greater numbers than ever before. Other vile xenos must also be faced, creatures not yet named in the annals of the Imperium. You must take the battle for survival into the unknown regions of space and root out the vile taint of the alien, before it can spread and infect the entire galaxy.

Other enemies wait too, for truly, the foes of Mankind never tire. The servants of the Ruinous Powers plot the downfall of the Imperium, and you must face perhaps the most terrible of enemies—the Traitor Legions, your own kin who turned against the Emperor at the very dawn of the Age of Imperium.

To enter the Deathwatch is to take the most binding of oaths. Of what you see, what you kill, you may never tell, except to those who you fight alongside. Your victories will go unheralded, your deeds unknown, and your name unrecorded save in the sealed archives of the mysterious Ordo Xenos. But the Deathwatch crave not glory; they desire only to serve, and to keep the darkness that hungers for the soul of Man at bay, to cast it into the night, never to return.

You are Deathwatch.
You are the right hand of the Emperor, and none may stand before you.

Deathwatch has six Specialities: Apothecary, Assault Marine, Devastator Marine, Librarian, Tactical Marine, and Techmarine. Only one Apothecary, Librarian and Techmarine will be allowed in any given "Kill Team". These will be placed on a first come first served basis.

The Rules are simple.
Firstly:
The actions of your character will be based on a,
Description - Reaction - Outcome
basis. For example

"Character" Jumps down onto the ledge below and clicking his bolter to full auto opens fire on the three Eldar senteries.....

*NOT*"Character" Jumps down onto the ledge below and clicking his bolter to full auto opens fire on the three Eldar senteries blowing the heads of the first two and eviserating the third.

Knowing you can do no wrong will make your experiance less enjoyable and it will quickly become boring. As the Narrator it is my job to describe what is happening around you ie:
The first two Eldar are cut down but the third dives for cover and returns fire.

The reason for this is that although you know 'you' can dodge, parry or take cover, your enemy can also!! and that is out of your controll.
Hopfully this will enhance your game. Do you take the hit? If so how bad is it? Do they? Do you dodge the snipers shot? Do they parry your chainsword? Does your bolter jam at a vital time? (( any TT players will remember THOSE rolls ))

Secondly:
Any OOC (Out Of Character) diologue, please put into spoilers. These are usually questions 'you' as a player may have.

Spoiler

This will keep the action flowing and make it easier for players to follow the storyline. Also it helps keep this thread clear of any none storyline related info.

So rules laid out.... Still interested!? please PM me your:

Character name
Chapter
Class
Wargear *You may change this after your mission briefing should you deside you need something different or extra.*
Assume any grenades you carry will last the mission unless stated otherwise by Narrator.

I shall inform those individuals when they are to report to the mission briefing room.

For more infomation, or if anything is unclear, please feel free to PM me also.

Good Luck Brothers and may the Emperor guide you.....

Mortificators? Wow there's a fringe Chapter. Always interesting to see people that like some of the less well known Chapters.

Maximus - Enters the room and salutes his brothers, in a deep, thundering voice: "Greetings."
He has a scarred armor, from the many previous battles. A scratch along his helmet, crossing one of the visors. He walks towards the one of the corners of the room, where he stands, observing his companions.

Romulos watches each of the Brothers in the chamber, bolstered by the knowledge that each comes from a strong dependable Chapter, if not some more distant from the teachings of Guilliman than others. His helmet hides his initial expression of disdain in seeing the Mortificator. In hearing the greeting, Romulus salutes in reply. The pristine metal of his vambrace ringing off the immaculately cared for breastplate, where the brilliant blue had been replaced with black. And Romulus had made every effort to appease the armor's machine spirit.

"Greetings, Brother." Trying to keep the judgement from his tone.

As every Marine entered in turn, the green and black clad figure stood watching. he had jet black hair and skin and glowing red eyes. he cradled his stalker bolter in hand checking the magazine. he stood motionless in the shadows so much so that had he not revealed himself he would have not been noticed

Conrad greets each Brother Astartes in turn, though ignoring the Ultramarine Librarian and the Salamander. His Black Templar beliefs preventing him from associating himself with the Space Marine Witch and the melochromatic mutation of the Salamander. "This should be interesting." Conrad thinks to himself.

"I grow weary of waiting. Where is this Lord Rex?" Maximus starts to get impatient, his brothers looking at him, not revealling their feelings, but he knows the disdain towards him is only increasing. He cares not, for only in battle can a man be judged.

""Lord Rex will undoubtedly show himself when he feels it necessary." Romulus replied coldly, made more so through the tinny vox. "We must wait, and be patient until that time is right. Besides, we should better know those whom with we shall entrust our lives." He eyes each of them in turn. "As each of us must put our lives in the others' hands," his gaze returning to the Mortificator, "no matter who they may be."

Romulus unclasps his helmet, and removes it from his armor. His face is surprisingly young, and bears no scars of war or time. Only his eyes betray a hint of the power and wisdom hidden behind his visage. "Brothers of the Deathwatch, I am Codicier Romulus, of the sons of Guilliman, the Ultramarines." He nods to them. "I would know those with whom I fight."

"Stand down Brother Cervantes"

The grim tone of Lord Rex precededs the bulk of the Aged Marine. Entering the briefing room he walks straight over to the holotable. The screen becomes alive with light and the vision of an ancient Lunar class vessel.

"This gentlemen is the Fortuitous Seer. She does not look like much, but she holds a dark secret. She was transporting a ancient piece of archio-tech. A Sensory Shield Tablet, when she went missing during a warp transition. Recently we have recieved a communication that she has been spotted in high orbit above a seed world. Peliminary heralds have gone unresponded so the desision has been made to send a team in to investigate and retrieve the Tablet. Thats where you come in. You will be transported to the vessel and from there it's down to you. Retrieve the Tablet is priority one. Finding out what happened to the crew secondary...... Understood?"

He now looks to the assembled party

(( Just ignore my post right before Othrim posted ))

After examining the image of the vessel and taking in Lord Rex's report. Romulus turns up his nose thinking on the ramifications of 'missing during a warp transition.' Undoubtedly there would be dark hands at work, and the sensory tablet presumably lay as a key to something much darker.

"Aye, Lord Rex." Romulus nodded. "Mission parameters are understood."

" Judging by external scans of the vessle there is no evidence of combat. No blast damage of any kind. Since noone is responding we can only assume foul play. The fact that it was lost during transition, leans towards a problem in the Seer's Gellar Field so warp denisons can't be ruled out. Hence the Astartes involvment."
