"The sheen birds flying high, the statue of the Omnissiah at our backs, the smell of oil in the air. It would be a perfect day if It wasn't for the blood red sky, the burning hab blocks and the millions of citizens massacared upon the Iron warrior's arrival. ever since that lone drop pod landed in the Xeracha desert, the sand has run red. Now with the full force of their Legion on the surface there is little resistance left. The Imperial fists have an estimated arrival time of 7 weeks if the warp is calm, so we'll be stranded for a while. With the slaughtering half the guard regiments and 7 titan legions falling etither to damnation or the blade within a week of planetfall, only our citedel remains. You are a tech-priest, one of the few left alive on the death world that is Arrathano IV, and it is your job to ensure the enemy do not reach here alive. Whilst they are building their dark fortress upon the desert our remaing forces have been able to build one last Titan lagion, giving us fifteen. As the only tech-priest on the east side of the planet it is your duty to ensure their safety. You are being given command of the warlod class titan, Emerparaih or the back breaker as she is known. Go forth and bring devestation to the forces of the Enemy, May the emperor watch over -static hiss-" transmission ends.

Some men would call it madness. Some would call it foolishness. Some might well even go as far as to call it heresy, to take such an action.

Intios called it smart.

He checked the systems again one last time, observing the control lights as he pulled the final levers. The command console demanded an input from his potentia coil. Intios consented, tapping into his energy reserves to link his mind to that of the machine. He felt the familiar heady rush, the momentary swirling colours and static interruption, though magnified due to the great machine, before connecting fully, man and machine intermeshed as one. Intios would achieve this state permanently one day. He moved his right arm cautiously, the Titan responding in kind. A grin slowly spread across Intios' lips as he gazed down. The last forces were preparing to rally and attack. Emerparaih-Intios would lead them. The machine responded to his mind as though it were his own body.
In a way, it was his own body.
With a confidence matching the Titan in stature, Emerparaih strode towards the desert.

below you can see the burning hulks of war machines beloning to both sides, flaming hulks strewn across the plain like a childs toys. In the time it takes for a guardsman to walk 100 paces you are more than a mile away from the city, deep into the desert. Chaos territory. Mandrakes swoop overhead, screaming and letting loose bale fire that only serves to annoy you. They are taken care of with a few torpedo launchers. "Sir, starboard flank, we have a reaver inbound!"

Intios was fully embedded into the machine, metal and flesh responding to his mind impulses with equal aptitude.
"Sir, starboard flank, we have a Reaver inbound!"
With a grating mechincal laughter, Intios turned his right arm, the Melta cannon swinging wide and swatting several mandrakes from the air. he fired, high-yeild melta fuel eating through the enemy titan's front with ease. It staggered, before recovering and unleashing its own salvo. Intios winced as missiles and solid shot impacted his hull. He fired again, incinerating his enemy's left leg, and crumpling its face inwards with a point blank shot from his quake cannon.
"Target destroyed!"
"Good. Carry on!" Intios strode forwards, unparalleled in the theatre of war, a God incarnate.

++sir, this is Xeroth, your melta captain. we are having problems with our cannon, it seems there is something jammed in the works it looks like....a dragon. the..the titan it revving its chainsword++ the binaric speech snaps your to attention, you are in the titan, you are facing off a reaver battle titan, but you had a binaric dream. The titans' spirit was messing th your mind, testing you if it were.

"Gah, focus! Fire the melta cannon, we'll clear it with our own fury! Quake cannon, fire at the Titan, keep it occupied while the Melta cannon clears"
The cannon charged and fired, Intios grimacing as he waited for the outcome.

the reaver titan rocked slightly as the blast sheared away it's armour plating around it's nose. but it's weaponry was still intact. revving its chainblade it hurls down towards you

servo's scream and whir as the tear, the coupling comes undone on the left arm bringing the chainblade to a halt. That didn't stop it from aiming its melta cannon at your bridge and firing point blank

Intios screamed as the melta washed over the Titan, frying sensors and input nodes, stings and burns wracking Intios' body as it did the titan. But she was of a sturdy build, and carried on, albeit in a very damaged condition.
"Wipe that scum from my sight!" Intios barked as both his arms jolted back from the titan cannons' recoil, his shoulders jerking quickly after.

the blaze from the auto cannon took the titan at it's knees making it fall face first into the sand below. ++one down, a legion to go++

Intios whispered a mixture of a curse and a blessing. "Keep moving. Multiple small targets below, Quake cannon, smoke them!" Intios was answered by a resounding boom from the left.

The chaos soul grinders were pummeled into ash as the cannon tore into them. ++Intios, This is High-tech priest Kylransta Atano. We need your help. Our outpost is under attack, we are 500 clicks north-east of your position. Head past the abandoned mining town, the carafell gorge and the across the dry sea and you will see our facility..The smoke makes it hard to miss++

"Fully received and understood, moving now." The titan strode through the ruins of the battle, past the abandoned city, before setting eyes on the burning outpost. "Quake cannon, prepare to fire from long range. And by the Omnissiah, do not hit the outpost!"

As the cannon fires up there is a ear splitting sound as an axe appears in the barrel, cleaving the gun in two and setting of a chain reaction, decimating the entire right arm's crew. The demon who wielded the axe was obliterated in the blast, but the titan was entering meltdown, and would be dying in a matter of moments. It was time to escape

"Right cannon critical! Internal core has gone into overload!"
"Sir, we cannot save her!" The serf's eyes were stricken with terror. Intios slapped his insolence.
"No! We shall not-" The titan seemed to roar in pain, Intios' mind link mirroring the great beast's pain.
"Sir!"
"Go!" he yelled, staggering forwards. His hands hit the viewport of the cockpit, cracking the hardened glass. He staggered right, severing the connection to the machine. With a heavy heart, he hit the Plasma overload stop.
The Titan would go critical in a matter of minutes.
Intios ordered the melta cannon to fire one last time, before setting the cockpit to disconnect. It would serve as an impromptu escape pod.

serfs ran hither and there, fretting as their beloved war machine crumpled and died..the entire arm crews were down in moments and there was no point in even trying to raise the core crew. You and three tech-guards climb out just in thime...the melta cannon fires...the titan explodes wiping out everythng within its radius...a lone piece of heated metal protects you four 'lucky' suriviours
