[Armoured Priest]

Thaes took an involuntary step back as he quickly wiped his snout, trying to mask his surprise from the towering Komodo. "Yes, we have a heading." he replied to shale. He stood there for a moment looking up to his father, having a number of questions that he carried with him for a long time he wanted to ask his genetic father he still knew very little of, but also knew it was not the time. "Was there anything else?" he asked, a tone indicating that he has little time before departure. He didn't want to reveal the fact that they were going to see the creature that plauged the islands for decades before being captured by Johten's father, not after knowing Shale's views.

"I will protect these people. But i am sending your brtoher with you. YOu two need to bond. And i dont trust the tiger with my son./"

 

The hulking brutish komodo comes up behind your father and nods, his wrecking ball clenched in his hands.

"Hm, it's not like I've grew up with Johten and Jarvan during of my Juvenile period of life or anything." Thaes commented, shifting his attention between the two. Thaes didn't really believe the sudden need of family bonding coming from the warlord and the warlord in training. Especially with the destination they were heading for. "From our visit earlier, it seemed more like the three of you didn't get along, not me and them." he said with a raised brow to his....brother?

Your father turns away and leaves you with the brother.

 

"He thinks hes sneaky.....But he wants me to see waht Johten is hiding....I just wanted to meet you without father.... My name is Arnac by the way....YOu can call me pudge..."

"Well....pudge, it was kind of obvious what he was really doing." Thaes said, giving a dismissive sound as he stared at the direction their father left. He returned his attention back to Arnac. "Alright, lets talk while we go. Johten and Jarvan have been waiting much longer then they probably wanted." he said as he picked up his bags again, knowing that he could probably easily keep up with himself. "Honestly I'm more worried how mother and 'father' will be with each other while all of us are gone." Thaes admitted to him. He still knew only very little about his biological brother, but thaes hoped more in the idea he was actually being honest with him. Even then, he would make sure he was doing more of the questioning then he was for now.

"they talk often...ANd without hurting one another."

 

Pudge says as he walks besides you, cathinc gup with the two lions.

 

"THey work together to purify the waters and help make sure food is growable."

"Nice to know those kind of ideas still float around at least." Thaes said as he placed his bags into the back of the vehicle as carefully as he could, not wanting to damage any equipment stored within them. Very rarely did he see such research topics pop up in his own research station, most focused on ghouls and mutations. While it may not be something of interest to him, he also knew the importance of solving more practicable problems as well. "But with what's been going on lately, I think there's going to be a new slew of problems to handle besides hunger soon." He sighed before looking to Arnac. "Tell me, what's have you seen going on here? Johten and Jaravan have told me much but I'm sure there's even more." he asked.

What do you mean seth..."

 

Arnac asks, cocking his head.

 

"Can you clarify a bit?"

"I mean, what have other clans been doing? Who went to Damien, who hates Johten or shale but still? Have there been a rash of new strange ghouls that haven't been on the island before? The lay of the land as one might say." he explained, hoping that was a better way of stating what he was hoping to know. It was then He realized that he really was going to have to be more considerate of what he says if he wanted him to understand what he says.

Pudge loosk at joten whos ear perks ever so slightly.

 

"Both leaders have few allies. Shale is a merc, therefore he is considered scum. Johten is seen as a watrlord so few support him."

 

Jarvan nods.

 

'the only supporters we have left are the raskki......A smal hive of bee varghen near the caost...But their numbers are so limited that they barely count.

 

Pudge nods again.

 

 

"As for ghouls, were had hundreds of new breeds. Nothing drastic, but didfferent varitions...Its as if damien is purposefully tweaking his ghouslk to root us out."

"So bleak is the word I'm hearing right now." Thaes said as he leaned against the vehicle now. "Nothing like working under pressure. I suppose." he said to himself, repeating a quote he often heard his adoptive mother say to him. "I need to catch up to just what sort of tweaks and modifications Daimen's been into, maybe find a pattern in all of it. Find his facilities. And still need to get ahold of one of the pale eggs too." He listed off, making a mental list of tasks that should help keep the varghen and others a foot hold on the islands at the least. "But this thing, this creature should provide a lot of useful data at the least." he said, referring to the reason they were going out in the first place.

The ride goes silent.

 

For hours you drive in the wilderness, the night fridgid and unforgiving until you see the facility in the distance.

 

The science facility is derelic and abandonded.. Long since ransacked. Grafitti and tags cover the walls as the car comes to a stop, and johten slowly rises.

 

'We are here...Are you ready for this comrade?"

 

He shoulders his heavy titans blade and cracks his shoulders, looking at a pitch black hallway in front of them.

"Definetly not my first expedition into an abandon facility for useful data." Thaes sighed, remembering many horrible misadventures with Burias and Cain being his only escorts into myraid facilities before. "At least no everything will catch on fire." he said, taking a deep breath before letting them take the lead at first as he carried his bags over his shoulders, his toxinrig on and fully active, not wanting to take many risks as he can.

you are lead inside to a massive metal door.

 

On either side are two coinciding locks.

 

As one, and in perfect unison , jarvan and johten place their blades in the lock and turn. Their is a loud banging, and a grinding as the door opens . Inside is a massive cage where a pair of eyes instantly flash.

 

 

'You....Tiny one.......I remember you....The night of the raid...you were in the tree.."

 

Their is a sharp chuckl and johtens eyes narrow.

 

"Monster...Deceiver.."

"Huh?....Oh....oooooh." Thaes said to himself under his breath. "You have a name?" he asked the thing, already knowing thanks to his mother. He wanted to see if it remembered it's own name still, or if Damein gave it a new one. His glanced over to sides of the room to see if there was atleast an observation room so he could put his stuff down and set up the machines he brought up with him.

"Names....are for the living little thing.."

 

The creature hisses in the cage, shifting its weight side to side.

 

"Names are for things with a future..."

"And you think you don't have a future?" he asked it, curious at the rather philosophical like answer to a simple question. He pulled out a rectangular device out of one of the bags and pressed it's power button, the recorder now began recording audio it can pick up. He silently scolded himself for not doing this first. "You were living once, all ghouls were." He said as he pulled out a compact tissue analyzer. He wasn't sure how Johten and Jarvan would react to how theas was treating the creature he knew as Bjarl, but he hoped to have better results with honey rather than blood.

"I dont remember...Was i?"

The beast snickers, lickling its razor sharp talons.

 

"Its been a long time boy....And ive killed alot since then."

 

Jarvan sits down, watching quietly as johten paces.

[Armoured Priest]

"So has everyone else here I would expect." Thaes sighed in exertion as he pulled out a large cylindrical container and setting it aside for now. "But that's the thing, I can't remember for you. And I'm also figuring out what he saw in you to keep you alive, Bjarl." he said, as he pulled out a thermal imaging device, pointing it toward him as he tried to figure what sort of body temperature it had. If it showed the bright reds Thaes was used to seeing, it would mark one of the know features of ghouls and probably give a direction for further speculation if he can't get Bjarl to open up more before Johten tried something.

Bjarls body is ice cold, almost serpentine in its temperature.

 

"Bjarl.....That name...i know that name.."

 

He begisn to chuckle, a rusted, grating laugh that visibly makes Johten prickle.

 

"Thats waht your father called me....When i pulled his organs from his body.."

 

Johten snarls, an electrical current running up his arms as he strikes the cage with a loud clang, making the beast scream out in pain from the electrical discharge.
