I have to say this is a great thread. I love rome total war as well. I am extremely pumped for rome 2 comin out in november.

I would love to get Rome Total War II. Doubt my Laptop could handle it....

I have Medieval Total War II though and that runs fine when I have hundred upon hundreds of Yeomen Archers =D

I got Medieval 2 as well i haven't installed it on my laptop and i hope i get Rome 2 when it comes out.

Favourite Faction on Medieval Total War II and not just biased but it is the English. They get some of the best archers in the game. Which makes them in a way the best in defence =)

English can be fun to play. I normally run the Irish or Welsh due to location.

Oh on the British Isles expansion stuff. Not really a fan. English start off with loads of territories. Might seem appealing but they have little money and lots of rebellions to deal with =/

I usually use the Norse or Norwegians. (I forgot the other Faction that isn't native to the British Isles.)

Not a big fan of the Expansions because I don't really like many of them =/

Well I get bored of games after I build up an empire which takes ages building up stuff. Is annoying when the Scottish get William Wallace though.. Comes with a large army just as places stop rebelling against me =/

Still English get possibly the best troops as they are the only ones with a "Professional" army.

I haven't played much of the Crusades to be honest. Might install it and have a go soon =)

last time i ran it i ran as the Kingdon of Jerusalem and completely destroyed anything not under my banner

It's effective. 2nd time around was different. I made it as a test so i used codes. after untold millions of denarii spent basically buying off allegiances I manages to keep all Christian factions united and even got the Turks to join me.

Much easier to keep all Christian Factions allied if you kill them all and take their lands =P

But keep them alive and together does sound difficult =P

Papal States annoy me... When at war with another Christian Faction and they tell me to stop fighting them when I am starting to win.
EG France starts a Siege on Caen. I have reinforcements from London and other English areas. Caen defends from France before reinforcements arrive. Troops from England drop down. Start sieges on French territory. Pope requests I cease all hostilities or be excommunicated.

I usually ignore the Pope and keep going. Everyone who didn't side with me died. For some reason Poland decide to ally with me and they are the only other faction in Europe left =P

lol last time i ran that i stated as England due to location and spared no one. I didn't want the allies due to possibility of betrayal. So everyone was sacrificed to the Blood Gods.

That's usually how i roll in the game, granted i did have one game with almost every faction as a protectorate. It was great

i enjoy playing empire total war as well. Espcially as the prussians. They start out with really good melee infantry, so i charge musket lines screaming at my comp "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD"
