Tournament for 4000+ Microsoft Points

However, the winning team of the tournament will receive upwards of 4000 ($50) Microsoft Points. This will probably increase to somewhere around 8000 points (or more) if I can afford to do so. Additionally, at least one team will win 800 Microsoft Points just for participating.
It will be similar to a conventional tournament taking multiple weeks to complete and having multiple games per team matchup (e.g. team A plays team B in a best of 3 games series to determine winner). Full rules and details will be available within the next week and there will be some rule sets that can be chosen banning a variety of weapons, including hammers.
If you want to join in on some serious Space Marine competition and have a chance at winning some actual money (in the form of Microsoft Points) then sign up.
Check out the app called Verge I Created: http://goo.gl/OFW1yl. It's only for android now, but will be out for iPhone in the near future!
It essentially allows you to share your location with your friends, family, coworkers, etc through a group in the app. You can find everyone in your group's location by pressing a button (assuming they respond to the request), and plot it on a map. From there you are given a point that is equidistant from everyone. With this you can find a place to search for and meet up and send this location to everyone in your group telling them thats where you want to meet. There's no need to enter any addresses, and all you need to do is click a few buttons.

Thanks yeah i figured we need something to boost enrollment in SM tourneys and what better motivator than money. If people arent going to join with money on the line then good for them, especially when they have to commit nothing other than playing a few space marine games.
We've done MSP prizes before, in the past they worked wonders. Shame you cannot buy all the DLC anymore though so you can't expect the prizes to feedback into the community and boost DLC gaming >>

I'm looking to start signups this week and hopefully start the tournament within the next two weeks. Since there is money involved, it isn't going to be a "win 1 game per round to advance" type of deal. Depending on the number of signups, I was thinking that there would possibly be a short round-robin phase followed by a standard elimination phase. Feedback on this is greatly appreciated as well. The tournament will likely take place over a couple of months (depending on signups, and the fact that teams generally only play over the weekend). However, if we do wind up doing a round-robin, those games do not need to be played in any order or on any set dates so teams that choose to get their games done quickly are free to do so. Again, more details will be posted in the coming days.
