Ok so i uninstalled soulstorm since it wouldn't start and then reinstalled. Only issue i had was i had to put the disk into another laptop and then copy/paste the files onto my flashdrive so i could install it. Is there a way to set the game up so i don't need to run my disk to play it? all the other DoW games up to dark crusade automatically do this. All advice/help/suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance everyone.
Technically no because it's a DRM thing.
However you can shove the DVD in another computer and make an .ISO of it. Then transfer the .ISO file to the laptop and mount it using Daemon Tools (if Win7) or Windows Explorer (if Win8)

I want to make sure I've got this correct.

It will take up between 500mb and 4GB of HDD space depending on the size of the files on the Soulstorm DVD. This method is not illegal assuming you have purchased a retail copy of the Soulstorm game; it is however illegal if you give this .ISO file to anyone else.
