arachnus grunts as he goes to a sizable house, gripping it with his claws and lifting . The ancient stones creak and graon as he lifts the side of of its foundations with a monsterous roar, toppling it behind them to cover their escape.

 

 

they manage to get out of the town with some effort, the large omniarch grunting in pain as he pokes at some spears that got at his fleshybits

"Alright, so we're sure as fuck not going through that place again on the way back." Ghiest hissed with a look back to the concrete hellhole filled with spear chucking hunters they just left. The serpent Omniarch checked over the group to be sure everyone made it. "Lets see, Arachnus, scourge, abathur, Lessa you all alright?" He question before looking over Arachnus. "Well, I mean, alive and here at least." He added before moving over to see if he could pull the spear out with hiss fanged mandibles.

The groups all nod , but it’s scourge who protests the most.

“ I want a damn body! Those damn beast hunters!”

The grub squirms in annoyance.

“ they will know damnation!”

"They will know where we are if you keep screaming like that scourge." Ghiest hissed, poking a talon into the grub beast's head for emphasis and to 'encourage' him to hush up before something else catches wind of their presence. "Now, lets keep moving and leave this place. Maybe we'll find something to shove scourge in once we hit the jungles down south." He reasoned, giving something to possible to look forward to for the whiny grub to think on.

the trip is long, and arduous. For hundreds of miles things dont show up. Nothing but derelict cities and charred husks...

 

FInally coming upon what looks like maybe an old marketplace engulfedby nature arachnus grunts and falls on his back, exhausted.

 

"Rest.....weve come so far in this damn heat...... I neeed a few days rest."

"Fine by me, I'll look for some water." Gheist hissed, keeping low to the ground in an effort to save on stamina of keeping his torso up in the air like usual. Even for him the heat was getting him after days of migrating ever since that old town of hunters with the bone spears. Staying to the shade and places of concealment, Ghiest let the others rest while he went to find either a source of water or just to make sure the surrounding area was in fact clear of possible enemies.

You find some water, and no sooner do you lean down for water you hear something.....

around you is the ruined town center, overgrown and reclaimed by the wild but the skeletons of the houses hide shadows that move..

the noiseomes the ruined wreckage of a vehicle, the outline of a ....Small crablike creature.

your attention is brought to a ruined fountain, where to eyestalks consider the figure before it before vanishing into the water.

"The fuck?" Ghiest hissed to himself quietly, wondering what new hell he stumbled upon and how hostile it might be. While he could see how big the, crab thing, was, it was the whatever in the fountain he wondered what its size was and if it was an ambush predator. Using one of his scything talon, he tries to flick a sizable rock into the waters of the fountain and see what sort of reaction it would get.

A claw, the size of a human claw reaches up and slices the air with a clack loud enough to slice the air.

The eyes return and the water begins to froth as the front a amassing d coconut crab can be seen.

“You…… smell of rot…. But are not of rot.”

It’s voice is deep and ponderous, as if speaking is taking all of its cognitive function.

“You…. Are not natural….”

"Oh you talk too, maybe we can be reasonably for once." Ghiest sighed in some relief. "You're right, I'm not exactly natural. My mom made this way so I think that's still good enough." He explained while coming out of the cover of the ruins so the crab could see him easier and as a sign of goodwill. "My name is Ghiest, what's your name?"

He pulls his monsterous bull from the water, revealing his full body, dwarfing somone even as big as arachnus.

“Snips……. Old brother of snaps…. And father of clip and clap.”

Two smaller sets of eyes appear in the water under him than vanish as he continues.

“The voice …. It spoke of somone like you…. So did that woman… she came here a moon ago….. her name was hard for my mouth pets to make out…”

"....Was the name 'Freya' by chance?" Ghiest asked, now wondering just what the hell he stumble upon out of sheer coincidence. There's not exactly that many people that would know about himself and the huge fucking crab in front of him came into contact one of those few individuals.

"fre...ya.... yes... yes that was her."

he poitns over to a nearby house where the door is locked.

"she stayed in there...Said shed leave a few things, and when you came, to direct you deep into the lands.....toward the coast.... Said she was going to find and awaken gods of the old world.... Beings of blood and sacrafice to protect the humans of the land....Specifically...she said the name...Quetz...Quetzo.... Quetzoleqshooo haa>"

the lumbering beast struggles with the words as he huffs.

"that name.."

"Oh, feather fuck." Ghiest nodded, understanding who Snips was trying to pronounce. "Man, I can't believe we actually came across Mom's trail out here. Felt like we were just following out here on a feeling so far." he admitted as he slithered over to the door the crab pointed out, curious as to what she would have left. "How was she? How long ago do you think it was since then?" He pressed snips.
